"I was told to keep away from bitcoin or is it bitcon
Just hit an all time high today so go and slap whoever gave you that advice 😂😂"
This.
I can’t think of any other asset class that gave retail investors the chance to front run institutions.
As soon as Larry Fink announced BlackRock was going to launch a spot ETF you should have been buying. |

Taleb was for me a huge disappointment. Really enjoyed his books then he ruined it by turning all salty. |

Yeah have been for a while. Market went insane when Trump was confirmed as next president. Have doge/btc/xrp/eth/ltc/hbar and some blue chip stocks.
Anyone who thinks crypto coins are a con I would suggest in researching them properly. |

It has often been said that the moment you realise something is all over the social media platforms is the moment to get out. Not always correct but often enough? |

I dabbled a bit in BTC and cashed out after lockdown did ok but it was a bit a bit scary when you get over 10K. So volatile and no protections
I’ve never met a single person investing more than 20-30K
I mean imagine investing your future retirement or serious money that could buy a nice property 100’s of thousands in an unregulated ‘doggy coin’ with a silly s face on ?
Who in their right mind would do that?
Lets be brutally honest, Most people into crypto can be summarised as follows. Single males, online gamblers, conspiracy theorists, it’s a bit like the old fruit machine to use a bit of spare cash. |

Who'd a thought lead in your pencil, it was staring at us all the time. From writing maths to computing maths. It's gone full circle. This is why Musk looks so bloody happy all the time he knows what's coming. |

That’s why serious investors don’t buy individual stocks (or coins) nobody who tracks the market and spreads risk loses, every one of the main indexes grows over time |

"Are any of you investors? If so, what are you investing in?"
Companies I have insight to, industry expertise or have worked for. I don’t trust what anybody else suggests and that’s kept me safe.
I bought a lot of Rolls-Royce shares at average 88p.
Last time I did that was post 9/11 when they were 67.2p. |

Biggest alpha in money comes from Tax savings - so first leave your PAYE job and go Business - pay 12.5k, no NI no TAX and then take 500 as dividend and again no tax and then take 37k and just pay 8% in tax - then open SIPP and pay 12.5 into that, still no tax so basically you can withdraw almost 63k by just paying 8 % tax, having wife or adult kids, repeat and rinse
You will make more money than any investment you make over the long term period - so stop doing PAYE jobs. Well, if you are already doing it then you can think about ISA - choose index funds to have less headache, or you really adventurous, you can think about leveraged index ETFs or individual US stocks. If you are adrenaline junky - you may want to try futures trading.
Please note that I am not a financial advisor and my knowledge is based on what I have seen and read through social media. So please do your own research before making any investment or financial planning.

Serious investors like Mike Green and Chris Cole have extensive research on just how dangerous index funds have made markets. People get pulled into a false sense of security buying them.

I'm not in PAYE. 🙂 LTD doesn't work for me, because corporate tax kills it. ISAs don't pay enough.
I'll take another look at ETF.
For me, I'm into P2P - something that nobody has mentioned. |

Good to see another cestrian - ISA only works if you go stocks and share way - cash ISA is shit. I tried P2P lending in the past, I didn’t not like the returns, plus it’s difficult to read and gauge the businesses you are lending your money to |

What is your plan about your pension? How do you pass it on to your Kids? I hear about Qrops schemes where you l move your pension to other country, they provide flexibility of enjoying annuity for your lifetime but the original amount will be handed over to your kids once you die. |

Got some bitcoin n a few other crypto coins, properly loan notes, bought some buy to let properties (but slowly getting out of the rental game, government is intent on screwing landlords over), few Rolex (bought as investment not to wear) n sometimes I spread bet on the financial markets of the world if shares go up or down.
All this helped me retire 7 years ago.

With stocks investment you cannot retire early as they don’t generate regular income…unless you have a big load of cash and bought some dividend paying etfs, likes of Schwab or leveraged ones like TQQQs |

"I have some investments in foreign defence manufactures ..been quite good over the years and consistent ..
That's flattened out. I made a lot on defense also."
2025 is going to be good with weapons companies ,, you wait and see .. get in on some China action with N / or Isreal own companies .
its only dipped about 0.8% but most of the prime companies have been making gains around 2% ish . |

"Those who are investing in US, what specifically are you investing in?"
If you're looking for advice on investing, surely a swinging forum is not the greatest place to get such advice? I work in investment management and I would say the source of where you get information is very important, there's conmen in most parts. FYI |

With Trump coming in power - only Trade war is possible - you don’t need defence companies to safeguard or grow your pot but a good plan to protect your moolah from possible decay - btw he is also not a fan of Labour. GBP is strong as of now, but can easily go back to match dollar if Trade war intensify. Remember you only have one industry that gives massive taxes back to Treasury to keep GBP boosted - and they are owned by Americans operating in UK. Rest of the industries are co-owned by Saudi, Qataris, Japanese and Indians, specifically real estate, car and steel production factories. |

I like to dabble. Unprofessional of course and have had some good wins and some bad losses. My *main* money I keep very safe in long term investments and portfolios. But I do love to chuck a few quid on a random stock that's surging and just see what happens. Never more them I could afford to lose. |
