...all the rage about 20 years ago... did anyone else used to read them? They had unusal titles such as 'Frank and I', 'the Flea', 'a man and a maid' and 'the romance of lust' ...

I remember reading the Romance of Lust at a very impressionable age.

Venus in Furs is a classic, and there was one about a flea, tales of a flea maybe? Lots of sex with priests in that one if memory serves.

All very much reflective of their time, interesting but not all that titillating.

As a kid, I found a book of those stories in the loft. I’m not saying they shaped me or anything …
