It absolutely amazes me that when men post pictures that they don't smile. Ok I'm a tgirl who is at her absolute happiest when dressed and all my photos show that. But comeon guys make the effort and smile in your photos. |

Mean and moody or wrinkles brow seems to be the way forward for men.
I do like to see a smile BUT having hated being told by men to 'smile love, it might never happen' I wouldn't dream of asking men to.

"Or maybe they've got wonky teeth, or they've eaten spinach and run out of floss
Or they ARE smiling. But have had so much Botox no one can tell the difference. "
Ooh, that's a real possibility.
Or, maybe they don't know how to smile as their parents never smiled at them as babies as they'd had too much botox. |

I often have this conversation with men when discussing their profiles in person. Instead of trying, and failing, for the "I'm hard as nails" look, just smile. 100% of the ladies prefer a smiling face. I know because I've done the research. Doesn't have to be a full on grin. Take a video of yourself and think dirty thoughts or of something you find humorous and then screen grab the image you like best . . . Failing that just stick smiley faces over your eyes. |

Maybe their unsmiling parents weren’t their real parents but soviet agents who had surgery to look like the original parents but it was not entirely successful and left them with limited facial muscle movements. |

"As the Beastie boys said
"Well, now, don't you tell me to smile
You stick around, I'll make it worth your while" "
If only there was a thread to post beastie boy lyrics on |

Does this explain the very British phenomenon of being "mildly amused"? We were mostly raised by facially damaged soviets? I wonder what intel they were after? |

You told me this a while ago, I still need to try it.
I'm told I have a nice smile but find it hard to take a photo.
I was also told that I have a wide smile 'like the Joker' '...but good'.
A friend took a photo yesterday but my face looks terrible, there is also some black clothing behind me that make it look like there is something hanging out of my arse.
I have a Bluetooth camera shutter and a tripod and used those recently, not having to concentrate on holding the camera helps. |

Some of us, our faces don't work just on demand. I never learned the hang of the smile on demand, I believe that my face does smile sometimes if I'm feeling happy, but I don't know how to do it deliberately just for the camera. I try to look at least pleasant when I'm waiting for the timer to count down and the shutter to click on my selfie, then I select the pictures that are least likely to frighten small children.
But smile? Wish I knew how to. |

Some may find taking pictures of themselves a little awkward. Trying to force a smile when you’re naturally a little moody looking is noticeable, in my opinion.
Most of the selfies I take, I’m not smiling in them. |
