As your profile states you’re looking for women I’m assuming you’re referring to messaging women and having messages read but not replied to? You have to fathom the sheer and ridiculous onslaught of messages that get sent on here, so you didn’t get a reply? To be candid don’t get butt hurt, accept it gracefully and move on.. |

To be fair he isn’t wrong, woman and couples get so many messages that it could take all day to reply to them sometimes, as soon as you reply to 10 you get 20 more come in, it can be exhausting, personally I like to reply politely to everyone if I can, others may not have the time and only read and maybe will message you at a later time or will delete, unfortunately being a single guy you won’t get many replies, it’s crap but just the way it is |

If you try to see other people as other people then you'd be able to allow them their own responses to messages.

On the minus side South Africa doesn't observe daylight saving time so you can't compensate for the extra hour you spent working like you could have done if you had stayed in the UK...

Much as it disgruntles you it's about numbers men out number women by 43-1 so on that basis we have to assume (we aren't women so we don't know)that they get an inordinant amount of messages and would need a secratary to answer them all ,so fab have written it in the rules " no reply means they aren't interested" .Even though sometimes they haven't actually read your message seen your profile or discounted you as an option, you have to develop a tough skin to stay here and try not to let it get to you ,move onto the next one you may have better luck .

People are under no obligation to read or reply to messages.
And if you read the site rules generally speaking an unread message is considered a no.
We gave up ages ago replying to everyone who messages .
Some guy's just don't understand "no" the even if a polite message back saying thanks but no thanks,ends up with message after message demanding to know why we are not interested, blah blah blah BLOCKED!
It inevitably ends up with us blocking them, you see the sense of entitlement that's rife throughout today's society seems to overshadow manners and respect.
If you tried chatting someone up in a bar or club and they said "no thanks" would you then start demanding to know why they are ignoring you? No you'd walk away.
Fabs is no different.
Mrs has her own hotwife account and for every 1 message she replies to there's probably ten or more that go unanswered.
So OP it's simple really UNread means no thanks. Easy |

Even when I reply a polite “no thank you” sometimes I’ll get a shitty reply. Makes me think why I bothered and as for leaving a message on read some people can’t be bothered or are inundated with messages. I understand OP your frustration and sympathise just how it is on fab.  |

Very often it’s because someone thinks they might get round to reading it at some point.

My bio states that if I don’t reply assume I’m not interested, if I am interest .. and you fit what I’m looking for I’ll reply .. given that I have replied in the past a polite No then I get “why, just try, let’s talk some more.. or I think im a 10/10 when in fact I’m actually a 2/10 or loads of abuse 😂 so now.. I just don’t bother which I’m well within my right.

With 2 kid's and full time work that could be 2 hours or 2 months.

By sending an actual no thanks message to you they would be exempting you for if they decide to block messages from your demographic in the future. As well as wasting both yours and their own time. Without even getting into the part where that usually means another message in their inbox, anywhere between no worries or thanks for getting back to me, to insisting on reasons why to just outright insults.
Send a message, delete it from your outbox so you don't fret over it, assume they're not interested until they tell you otherwise, and crack on 💜 |

As someone who's often online but lives in the middle of nowhere, I would say 30-40 a day is about normal for me.
On Thursday, I uploaded a strap on video and went to Liverpool. I'd opened fab and tried to clear down the inbox when we got to the Airbnb, but in the time it took to open and just delete one the number of unread would still be climbing. Even at 2am on a weekday (after being offline all evening because no phones in club) the inbox was still impossible to clear at the rate messages were coming in.
I definitely don't get hundreds every day. But if I upload a strong picture or video it goes to triple figures easily. And whenever I'm somewhere with an actual population the numbers go way up from the 30-40 up in the northern wastes.
Bearing in mind also that my profile is openly hostile and tells them I'm not interested.
I would expect an attractive woman who posts regularly from a proper city will easily get triple figures every day 💜 |

On the few occasions Mrs picture has gotten onto page one of most fabbed,her Inbox has literally gone into meltdown but usually once we take the picture off or it drops to page two the messages dry up as quickly as they started and they move on.

The amount of msgs and dick pics that u randomly get doesn't leave a lot of free time to read and reply to every msg. If they've read and not replied that's the equivalent of a no thanks. Calling them out on it in a forum will probably not help either. |

I generally operate on the same principal regardless of it being in business, fab, personal life, whatever.
If someone hasn't asked me to contact them then they in no way owe me any form of reply no matter how little effort it involves.

I have noticed this too, and i wonder if the OP means the same thing i do. All my recent mesages are being left as "read", unless they're replied to of course.
BUT, this only seems to have been in the last 2 months or so. for the years before that, they would either be deleted, or left unread.
so i too am curious why the recent change where messages are not deleted by the women where for years before they were.
maybe im imposing my experience on the OP if that is not what he means but i am curious. i did think at one point the "delete message" option had been removed, but a lady did actually delete one of my messages last week.
so, this brings me back to my original confusion, why are they being left as "read" instead of "deleted"? |

The main reason, as Prey said, is that it bypasses filters. If I later block a demographic, anyone I've replied to can message again.
Sometimes I do mean to go back and reply to one I've left on read. But I get distracted. And then it's too late. |

On my single female account, I had 1500 unread messages when I decided to stop going on it. Not because of ignorance, but because the longer I was online, the more messages I got so for every one message I responded to or deleted, I had 3/4 more come in. It got unbearable. And because of the massive backlog, I had men messaging calling me names for having not responded to them.
I’ve only since been on this couples profile where we don’t get near as many messages and the reason we won’t respond to some messages is simply because they’ve clearly not read our profile and what we’re looking for |

We've been on and off the site for about 6 years now, it's led to us reading messages then marking unread and deleting them.
We used to reply to all with a polite "no thank you" after which we would receive a reply either begging us for a chance or we would get called names.
Then we started to just read and delete which again led to follow up messages about us being rude and dismissive with a lot of name calling.
So now all of the messages we aren't interested in end up unread and deleted, we get far less complaints from men who feel entitled (I think they either assume we have too many messages so are just randomly deleting or maybe they just decide we're not worth it, either way we get left alone) and if anyone does send a rude follow up message we tend to block them outright but that doesn't happen often.
Day to day we get maybe 10-15 messages so we do normally have enough time to reply but after receiving a lot of very rude replies we just don't care anymore. |
