My hubby has been pushing the boat out on the videos we shoot, as he's bought LED lighting rigs. We are looking into a new camera, as the Panasonic one from 15 years ago just isn't cutting it anymore. Avoid keeping it all hand-held, as it just makes it look like Uncle Jack's holiday videos.
We see a couple of people on a regular basis, and only one of them is completely comfortable with the camera on them. Hell, last time he was relying on me as a director as to which positions I wanted he and the wife in!
I'm even considering picking up a second camera to run from a different angle and editing between them.
Bottom line is to pick up a modern camera (doesn't have to be 4K or even that expensive) and buy up enough lights to prevent shadow areas. You might also want to check if you new camera has a microphone jack on it, as buying a directional mic will be infinitely better than the crappy little one on cameras, allowing you to pick up whispered sweet nothings. |
