"I don't get down very often but when I do I usually just lock myself away and sit in silence with my thoughts till I feel better"
I hope you are ok OP?
And you know who you can reach out to if you need to talk to anyone? |

I'm sorry you're feeling down. I hope it passes soon.
I tend to shut people out when I feel that way too. I try hard to focus on all I'm thankful for and find things to look forward to. That usually helps |

"I go for a nice walk 🚶♂️ "
That’s usually my answer too. Thoughts seem to settle during a long walk, problems become more obvious, solutions clearer.
But some situations don’t have solutions. For those … a chat and a whiskey 🥃 or two |

I try and put on a brave face and deal with it in my own way , I know people especially us men don’t like to show our emotions but as I got older I realise crying isn’t a sign of weakness is sign of emotion , if like me you don’t like to let others know how you’re really feeling then remember
“ if you cry in the shower no one can see your tears”
That’s how I deal with a bad time |

I play a game called Disco Elysium. For some reason, it always gives me a better perspective on things.
I also listen to Alan Watts or Aperture (YouTube channel) to help remind me that none of this is real, and none of it really matters. |

I do this on a regular basis now as I can't go walking in the rain when I need to cry |

I like to have a good cry, but the only thing that makes me cry is watching videos of the kop singing you'll never walk alone, or the Glastonbury crowd helping Lewis Capaldi sing Someone I loved, it gets me everytime, and I feel much better after it |

"Listen to 3 little birds by bob Marley played at my dads funeral have a cry and try to carry on"
That was played at my dad’s funeral too while there was a slide show of his pictures. That song is a source of comfort for me because it’s something he would say |

Watch classic movies. Tonight I'm watching Our Man in Havana with Alec Guinness. Not actually with Alec Guinness, that would be weird but staring Alec Guinness. Old films take me away from my reality. |

Cathartic music helps me but id caveat this with advising not to do this if manic or severely depressed as it can be quite triggering. I do this only when in an apathetic state |

I have a breakdown that lasts for about 7 years. Things get worse. Things get very slowly better. I manage to behave relatively normal to outsiders. I eventually manage to taper myself off my antidepressants so that I'm now on only a quarter strength tablet every second day, and will stop entirely before I get to the end of the current packet.
Oh, and I have to reduce the amount of chocolate I eat because of developing type 2 diabetes... |

I need to be outdoors when I feel down, either walking/strolling, hiking, running.
I am going through some stress at the moment. My husband is working in north Wales this week and I have come away with him and our dog to stay in the Airbnb. Whilst my husband works I get outdoors with our dog.
This morning I did a 6.5 mile trail run in beautiful forestry. I loved it and it's therapeutic for me as I don't think or feel stressed particularly when I run as my brain is focusing on my performance, the route and my dog. My stresses are still there but for a few hours I had a break from thinking.

Going for a run is probably the best way for me to get me out of a mood.
Or phoning and talking to one of my 3 very close friends who are always available to me when they know I'm struggling.
What I used to do, and I cannot endorse this approach, was either drink or clam up and cut myself off from everybody I love. |

I put my trousers on, have a cup of tea and I think about leaving the house. I feed the pigeons, I sometimes feed the sparrows too
It gives me a sense of enormous well-being.
And then I'm happy for the rest of the day! |

"Depends on the level...
Mild..play music
Medium... play music and drive
Bad ..cry and play music and sit outside near waves
Very bad ..go skydiving
.. 3 successful jumps later "
Perhaps I should look into sky diving as our methods are similar. 🤔 |

I try and own it, understanding it’s a transient sensation and I soon be feeling ok again. Equally when Im feeling fucking wonderful try not to be too self congratulatory cus that to is transient. |

Try to get to bed early, and drink Bryan's Blueprint smoothie in the morning, that usually helps.
Staying off caffeine helps too, and a cold shower, and the friendship of my puppy dog, who is a star. |
