I'm sorry you're feeling down. I hope it passes soon.

I tend to shut people out when I feel that way too. I try hard to focus on all I'm thankful for and find things to look forward to. That usually helps

"I go for a nice walk 🚶‍♂️ "

That’s usually my answer too. Thoughts seem to settle during a long walk, problems become more obvious, solutions clearer.

But some situations don’t have solutions. For those … a chat and a whiskey 🥃 or two

I try and put on a brave face and deal with it in my own way , I know people especially us men don’t like to show our emotions but as I got older I realise crying isn’t a sign of weakness is sign of emotion , if like me you don’t like to let others know how you’re really feeling then remember

I have a breakdown that lasts for about 7 years. Things get worse. Things get very slowly better. I manage to behave relatively normal to outsiders. I eventually manage to taper myself off my antidepressants so that I'm now on only a quarter strength tablet every second day, and will stop entirely before I get to the end of the current packet.

Oh, and I have to reduce the amount of chocolate I eat because of developing type 2 diabetes...

I need to be outdoors when I feel down, either walking/strolling, hiking, running.

I am going through some stress at the moment. My husband is working in north Wales this week and I have come away with him and our dog to stay in the Airbnb. Whilst my husband works I get outdoors with our dog.

This morning I did a 6.5 mile trail run in beautiful forestry. I loved it and it's therapeutic for me as I don't think or feel stressed particularly when I run as my brain is focusing on my performance, the route and my dog. My stresses are still there but for a few hours I had a break from thinking.

Going for a run is probably the best way for me to get me out of a mood.

Or phoning and talking to one of my 3 very close friends who are always available to me when they know I'm struggling.

What I used to do, and I cannot endorse this approach, was either drink or clam up and cut myself off from everybody I love.
