Somewhere In The Ether…

Ahhh the good old days eh?

Have any of you still got it as opposed to the more modern, Vinyl flooring?

It was great though wasn’t it?

Watching ‘bubbles’ form under it which led to a wave like undulation effect - which in turn made for one hell of an awesome trip hazard.

Ahhhh….those were the days.

Anyway; Anything else from yesteryear that you look back upon fondly?

Not the North West...

Put polish on it and you've got yourself an ice skating rink!

Or a parent with a broken wrist. Fun though.

Good times indeed 😂😂👍🏻👍🏻

I also absolutely loved the way it gradually wore away leaving unusual stain like patterns on the floor… 🤭

I’ve just read that despite the more modern alternatives, Lino is considered more environmentally friendly which was very forward thinking.

Who knew 👍🏻😂😂

North Yorkshire

Having grown up in houses with no central heating, I'm very fond of an open fire. It was lovely sitting in the living room together all cozy and warm. The bit where we had to go to sleep in an icebox bedroom was really shit, though.

😂😂 Oh yes! You’ve jogged my memory now of tiptoeing across an ice cold Lino floor on a Winters day, accompanied by that distinctive ‘splatting’ sound with every footfall 😂😂👍🏻

One amazing thing about Lino was the ease of cutting the stuff.

Mind you, I recall a few instances I’ve witnessed in years gone by of shocking displays which looked as though the owners had literally torn the stuff with their bare hands.

Clearly they were degenerates.

Land of the Long White Cloud

My parents have lino throughout most of the downstairs of their house.

A visitor wearing stilettos left an awesome set of indents through from the front door to the lounge and back.

Still there 30+ years later.

Yes indeed; it was surprisingly weak as regards indentations.

My parents had it in our kitchen and the stools we sat on left moon crater like dips in the stuff 😱😂😂

Cheshire

I remember rocking up at the local park with a roll of Lino under one arm, “getto blaster” over the shoulder, baseball cap on backwards thinking I was from the bronx and the best break dancer that ever lived! 🕺

Then getting home to mum shouting”where the fuck is the flooring from the downstairs toilet you little shit!! “ the good old days!
