Once September is done I feel like I can fully embrace autumn without hoping for a final bit of summer warmth. I’m doing that today in a blanket on the sofa with Vicks vaporub and a big box of tissues
What says autumn to you? Love it? Hate it? 🍂

That crystal clear Autumn sunshine. Crisp mornings. Nice clothes come out again. Coffee smells divine. Cobwebs with frost ok them. Spiders in woolly hats. Reasons to stay home and contemplate the world. Reasons to go out and give the world something to contemplate. Turning over when football comes on tele. Spiced apple everything. Time slows. Lovely. |

Hey Eggsy (oh how quick I am with a rather crap nickname).
I love Autumn. I always get that new year feeling even though I know it's not and hasn't been for over a decade. I love the food at this time of year, the abundance of cheese in dishes, birthday celebrations, Halloween. The delightful knitwear to be found. The changing landscapes. Getting lost in the company of another whilst the weather storms outside. I adore long walks in the crisp Autumnal mornings, stomping on leaves, foraging and splashing in puddles. Oh and getting lost in a gothic text, the season lends itself so perfectly to that genre.
Hope you're better soon! 🧡 |

I don't like constant wet weather and mud and squidgy leaves everywhere. It's a wheelchair nightmare. I spend the entire time with wet clothes, covered in mud splashes and with freezing hands.
So no, not a fan.
I can get onboard with crisp, icy winter because all the mud is frozen and the wet stays more on the ground than being absorbed by my seat cushion. |

Feeling the first chill of Autumn triggers my nostalgia.
Heating is on today and I've been using my Winter blanket for a while.
The leaves on the trees outside my window are turning yellow, and I can hear the car tyres on the wet road.
Kids go back to school.
The smell of burning leaves.
That's Autumn for me. |
