Growing up in a town like Luton, I accept it when black/coloured *delete whichever offends you* people use Afrobeat language, but I find it highly irritating when white people do it, in particular white women who do it because they prefer black men. |

I think them sort of people who talk like that are a product of their surroundings. I hear it all the time round my area, I do sometimes wanna reach out to them and try help them understand how stupid it really does sound! |

Spanish probably sounds stupid to you too
It is a false air of superiority to sneer at other languages, accents and dialogues
Studies show that people often associate a midlands accent with stupidness. It is just another form of prejudice |

People are generally a product of their surroundings and language evolves. How would you feel if one of the people you wanted to reach out to pointed out that it's "those sort of people"? |

Within Ten years it will as acceptable and recognisable as any regional dialect, whole swathes of a generation are picking up on it and that is all it takes for it to become truly established.
I've even heard kids talking like it down this way on occasion.....
It's like crossing a Bumpkin street kid with a Cockney street kid.....Bumpney is born! |
