I didn't wear trainers, except for the godawful military issue ones we had to wear for light PT in the army.
My go-to footwear for everyday wear was a pair of canvas boots. I lived in them. |

early 90's: Converse All Stars (Chuck Taylor's)
late 90's: turned to Etnies and have been wearing them ever since. Lo-cut II's last for years! (but no, I still don't have the same pair, they wear out eventually!!) |

I never but anything because it had an expensive brand name.
I buy stuff to be practical and that will last.
I used to buy Karrimore walking boots because the looked good, very comfortable and lasted - now they fall apart after a few weeks use (99% its the sole falls off - cheap manufacturing now that they're made in China) and the price has trebled, so won't be getting them anymore.

"I didn't wear trainers in the 90s. I'm so uncool I'm practically boiling 🥳
I have never owned a pair, never mind in the 90's "
I bought a pair when I had to go to the gym. I don't know what brand they were though |
