It's not just you op.

If I get a hi or how's you, from a profile with barely any text, it's a delete.

I ignore them. If they're vacuous enough for sending terse opening remarks then I'm not going to entertain them.

Occasionally I •will• entertain them, for my amusement, and just paste them a copy of the Red Hat Enterprise Linux administrator's guide.

I don’t mind getting a very short first message, it’s a tester to see if I’m interested in replying.

I actually prefer an honest “hi how are you” to a long copy and paste talking about “you guys” (I’m not a couple), offering me their gf (my profile is clear that I’m straight) or demanding I Domme them (again, if they read my profile they’d see I’m sub)

We've had a few copy and paste messages, I normally ask how they've got on with them so far ?

As it's failing with us .

One or two word messages are the best ones! Right up there with profiles that only have close up pics of genitalia.

I'm generally reading the situation, including that they will probably put the same interest and commitment to me, that their messages have invested in them. It's more than likely that I'll ignore the almost 0 effort contact types. Potentially, as a hypocrite, I'm more likely to respond to a wink than a two words message. Though experience shows that many of them aren't followed through with a good message.

Most messages I get are one word ‘hi’ messages.

The last ‘hi’ message I received I entertained them and replied back with ‘hi’, I then got a response of ‘hey’

it is Einsteins theory of insanity:- “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.”

I have on occasions asked whether they have had any success with a "hi" or cut and paste message, just out of interest. So far no one has come back and said they have been succesful!

Usually only messages I get are men just saying hi...

I try to send few lines long initial messages but they get ignored as well.

Now I would surmise that the message potentially was to say ‘ We shall take some splendid photographs of our exuberant activities’?

But most likely..

‘We Would like some photos to be taken’!

We always take one or two word answers as a not interested.

Conversation ends and they're blocked so we don't bother them again.

I think everyone here has there own response to a 1 or two word message If you choose to have a profile with nothing to show then your chances of getting a reply back is very slim.

Same can apply though if you have pics and a bio written. Myself I don't particularly see anything wrong with a "hey how are you" message.

I understand not everyone here is always confident enough at delivering an opening message, so a simple message may be the best way for them to start one.

If they send a face pic, I say that's a bonus at least they are willing to show, so you know what they look like at least.

It does however help to have something written on the profile at least enough to capture the viewers attention.

I find I get most responses from a single sentence message. Usually commenting on her/their pics.

Paragraph messages with a few comments about their profile, and what I'm looking for usually get ignored.

Maybe longer messages give off the copy/paste vibe

We delete them and if they message a second time(which they usually do again with no effort) block them. Its so lazy. We have enough info on our profile about what we're after. We wouldn't dream of reaching out to anyone and not putting some effort in.

We have had a guy message us for 3 our 4 times a week for 3 weeks. incidentally that's how long he has been on the site.

Message consists of hi,wanna meet, can accommodate now,do you reply, and other 2 to 3 word shite.

Obviously in 3 weeks he has never had the decency to read our profile.

Single male profile with a couples profile name.also not one pic either on his profile or sent.

So yep we just delete but don't block unless they get abusive.
