Following on from the current worry thread what amount of money right now would help with life ands it’s tribulations. I am not talking lottery wins but modest amounts of money that would make life that little bit easier? |

Assuming that things remain much the same economically we don't need much more than we have. Let's say 20k for a different main car and a small town car for me. Then another 10k to cover running costs for a couple of years |

With about 100k I could never work again. I’m fairly lucky that my house been paid off for years now and plan to buy a cheap place to rent out late this year/early next, I could make the 100k work by investing in 2 more. I still do worry though starting to feel the effects of my job now and wonder how much longer body can hold out doing it as right hip been hurting a few years now as well as various other niggles. To have the luxury of working when I like would make life a lot easier |

I spent 2 years on off doing my parents house grounds and do upkeep on it now.
Wish I had a van as even though I have PTSD now from it all it looks transformed and it was good exercise.
Maybe put an ad on reddit or facebook or something or check charity shop boards some here do their own handyman service, there are semi retired or others who like to help to make a friend or network in new area.
I replied to a guy on reddit who wanted help putting a fence up as his handyman went awol and he helped me with some computer type stuff.
This isn't thread related but oh well. |

bastard ex selling house be my biggest windfall 40k each in that but I did land 1500 on lottery tuesday night and ive a few g saved so im not doing too bad oh and I work hard too just need to keep pushing on reach my goals the joys of starting out again |

£3000 for a power add on for my wheelchair because my wrists are starting to fall to pieces.
£4000-5000 for a custom sized sports wheelchair so I can play tennis and other things with my daughter and maybe get back to some basketball training.
It's a lot of money just to get from A to B and do basic exercise, but that's the disability tax for you. |

Are you having a laugh?! No, the state most certainly does not.
The state wouldn't even provide the daily use manual chair that gets me around using pure shoulder power. That cost me £4500. Nor did the state pay for the hoist in my car boot to enable me to go out independently. Another £1500 initially then another £500 when I had to move it into a new car (which isn't remotely state funded either but I needed a big, automatic one when my old one completely died).

I not sure I understand the question. The state provides very little in terms of mobility devices. They would no more provide me with a basic, cheap attendant propelled wheelchair than the one I have now. I was directed to hire one from the Red Cross. They would provide nil, zero in terms of anything to do with sports access for anyone, no matter what the disability. That is the preserve of charities or crowd funding. There are no charities specialising in middle aged women with pregnancy related disabilities. Not fashionable. |

Deposit for my place was 75k 3 years ago. The estate agent said it was a "moderate amount". Took me ages to save that! |

As for me the £100 I'm missing from child maintenance bc father is doing cash in hand work which can't be quantified. So I'd like the money I was getting previously which was modest, but made a difference. |
