Hey all.
I'm making a concerted effort to get fitter by jogging in the morning - which I have always hated, but this week I discovered a way of breaking the jog up so that I can do more than I thought and surprisingly...I'm not hating it so much.
But still, it's hard work and not bothering is so much easier. So this thread is for everyone who is on a fitness journey of any sort who needs encouraging to keep putting one foot in front of the other, to get on that bike, or do those sit-ups.
What are you all doing to get fitter and how are you finding it? |

I need to start doing stuff to help my stomach area, I've been doing so well losing the weight but the belly is not shifting (probably because I'm a lazy arse and only use work and walking as my only source of exercise).
The only trouble is, I've had 3 kids and let's just say, if anyone was into watersports and watching a fat lass struggle to do sit-ups, I'm ya gal 😂 |

I’ve lost 13kilos since March and feeling so much better for it. More toned too!
I’m now at the point where if I can’t exercise that day I feel like I’ve missed out.
For me the motivation is reclaiming lost youth. Well, as best as I can!!! I used to be a lot fitter and want to get back there.
I think motivation is the key. Decide WHY you want to do it and keep thinking of that when you think about putting off a session.

Good for you OP. Those first steps are literally the hardest!
I generally keep fit by walking anywhere that’s possible, swimming and getting down the gym for compound weights. If I can make it a habit then I know I will stick at it. |

I go to the gym. I need someone to help me set up and move equipment so I pay for a PT. It keeps me motivated and I find I am more committed with someone to talk to and encourage me. We used to gym together, before our daughter was born and before my disability, so I've always preferred social exercising. |

Something recently started aswell. About week two and my aims are better portion control (I'm house cook so will help everyone)
But got an exercise bike in the house. So at moment aiming to cycle 6 miles about three to four times a week while using arm weights.
Might switch it up a bit with a rowing machine as well.
I am feeling a bit better for it. |

Join a martial arts club. Doesn't matter what the style is just one that's local, you can afford and is fun
In my experience, the fact that you're exercising in a group environment means you're less likely to not bother.
Personally, I could never run or go to a gym as I'd be bored after 5 minutes. |

Search "Parkrun", it's a free to run 5km run/jog/walk 9am every Saturday. There's over 1,000 different one's around the country so most people are close to one. Go regular and get chatting to regulars while getting fitter too |

I need a strict pt to get me off my lazy arse.
I've bought a bike to start cycling to work a couple of times a week but there's always a reason I can't (genuine reasons not my usual cba reason).
I want to be able to get into a certain dress in October but really struggling to find the motivation |

You will be glad when you eventually do it |

I lost 3 stone during covid so know I can do it and also know how much better I feel when I do but just can't get there atm. I have a notification offering me a discount on gym membership and may have to jump at it now |

How is everyone doing? I've been keeping the jogging going but feeling a bit down as I had a stupid idea if I jogged pretty much every morning for a week and cut sweets out I might see some quick results but I haven't. Silly of me, I know. Still, I'll try to keep going. |

Have you measured yourself? You might find you are loosing inches. The kg will drop off soon.
Get your steps in, do bodyweight exercise as well if you can

No but by eye I don't see any difference to the size of my stomach. |
