Ceilings are fascinating aren’t they?
Indeed, where would we be without them? (presumably not on the second floor for starters)
Anyway; Describe your ceiling to me please 👍🏻

"
Ooo Artex! 😍😍😍 Dids’t thou know’eth that older Artex featured more defined ‘swirls’ due to the inclusion of Asbestos in the mix?
Eeee I’m a veritable mine of highly interesting knowledge me 👍🏻😜 |

In parts of my house I have old Victorian ceilings. Original with intricate carved in details, and elegant designs. The newer parts of my house lack that ornate style. It’s, at times, too modern with straight lines and lacking curves or interest. |

I love those finishing flourishes as typically characterised in Edwardian and Victorian design 😍😍😍
Panelled ceilings for instance….. *fappety-fap!* |

Yes they damn well are !
We would be under the rafters !
We could be on the second floor cos even second floors have ceilings
All my ceilings are different. My favourite ceiling is a fan shaped artex one that my neighbours friend did when I moved into this house.
He has since died.
When my neighbour comes in he says ...... ffs ( or similar ) take that down will ya it's like a bleedin memorial to xxxx and I say .... no |

Now this is particularly interesting as so few of us brave painting our ceilings in any colour other than white.
I mean, we have coloured feature walls so why are coloured ceilings so rare? ☹️☹️

A beautiful quote just for you Granny, my fellow ceiling lover:
‘Are you really sure that a floor can't also be a ceiling?’
M. C. Escher
I love that quote. It evokes warm images of ceilings 👍🏻

Exactly mate I reckon more people should paint their ceilings a colour I don’t regret it and love the way the colour highlights the lines/detail on the ceiling rose and coving much more than the white did. I did see a photo of an amazing looking wallpapered ceiling the other day as well |

I was recently watching Outrageous Homes hosted by Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen.
I must say, seeing some of the delightfully painted ceilings, wall murrels, mosaics and papered ceilings really made me think how dreadfully uncharacteristic, bland and ‘safe’ my house is ☹️

High up - about 12'. Was 14', but the floor has been raised by a couple of feet. No ceiling lights, but two hooks in it, which were used to hang candelabra when the place was built in the 1870s. Deep cornices around the perimeter. |

I love the high ceilings often found in older buildings.
They bestow a sense of grandiosity - which was likely the exact intention, as was the fashion of ostentatiousness 🥰

The house was a 1930’s build but the previous owners had inserted an array of quirky features including a stained glass window, a spiral staircase and various random alcoves.
It was rather unique 😃 |

A beautiful bathroom can be arousing.
I was in a hotel shower recently big enough for more than six people if keeping distance and more than a dozen if getting close and personal. The space was brilliant. The taps not so much. There was only one monsoon shower head and the heaviest handheld shower head I’ve ever tried to hold. As I used it, I was daydreaming of how much more lovely it would have been with sprayers all around at different heights to give a spa experience. A curated selection of shower friends would have been a fine added touch too.
A bit off track there, apologies. |

Not at all; shower heads…..omg!!! 😍😍😍😍 Be still my throbbing neither regions!
I saw a twelve inch diameter, square headed one a few weeks back that I am severely tempted to purchase.

"several cracks ,water leak in the roof nicely painted "
Is your house timber frame perchance?
My present house is and due to the timbers expanding/shrinking based upon climatic factors, cracks in the walls are sadly, rather common. ☹️ |

A sort of off white shade. Annoyingly high ceilings when it comes to dusting (Victorian house) but so beautiful at Christmas time with bunting. And birthdays. And Halloween. Basically any celebration where I decorate. It's lovely, got some original features.
I don't look at it too often, only during sex. And celebrations. |

This is exactly the other reason I so love the cowgirl position, lovely; aside from her boobs swaying tantalisingly over my eager lips and tongue, if I look over her shoulders, I can simultaneously derive an added sexual boost from studying the ceiling and it’s bequeathed visual wonderment 😜😍😍😍👍🏻 |

Great stuff! Tough as all hell to! Although having to steam the hell out of it with one of those specially designed, spiked steaming rollers in order to strip it is a veritable nightmare! 😱😂 |

Sadly the amount of repairs became untenable; subsidence chiefly amongst them as one outer section of the house turned out to have not been underpinned during the initial construction 😕😕 |
