I think that there should be an Olympic Games for the random general population with entirely new events like those depicted in the Australian ad campaign or those that were in the Sky Sports show International King of Sports.
For example, the longest distance slide in your socks. Or who can hang from a diving board the longest. Or the under the hurdle hurdles. The elite athletes have their place but I’d be all over the far more entertaining international average olympics |

I would watch the olympics if Team GB were selected like jury service.
So you get a letter saying you’ve been chosen to represent Britain in gymnastics. And you HAVE to do it.
I’d never miss an event. |

CONGRATULATIONS!
You have been selected to represent Team GB & NI in...
Gymnastics (Asymmetric bars)
You have 6 weeks to prepare.
Good luck and may the gods be ever in your favour.

I'll give everyone a laugh in the sprint, as I'll probable face plant halfway through. |

"Synchronised biscuit consumption. All around final is to snaffle a whole box of Fox's Family Assortment.
I've already been in training for this event! 🏅"
There's marks both for speed of consumption but also pie-hole accuracy. Negative marks for crumbs scattered. |
