Police Helmets Offend

Reports that the PSNI, which is the Police Service for Northern Ireland who get petrol bombed more often than Katie Price goes bankrupt and served with an arrest warrant are apologising for images on their riot helmets. The Chief of Police may have it's priorities slightly confused. If there was a lesson on how to demoralise your public order team then this could be it. It's all over the news

This seems like political news. This political news perhaps has a better place for it, such as the politics section.

If one were to post in the politics section, then one might detract less from fun conversations in other sections.

Oh shit. That's that conditional again.

Is there a definition on what constitutes a Lounge post?

I don't know exactly. I'm not in charge. However, given there's a politics section, it is irritating to find all sorts of contentious political posts among the fluffy ephemera.

I was under the impression that the politics section was created - like the virus forum after it - to take the contentious topics away from more general conversations.

And yet here we are, with another contentious discussion. Which is political. Which should probably be categorised where it belongs. In the politics section.

It actually takes less effort than trying to rewrite things to kick up a fuss. Who knew?

You are, of course, entitled to your opinion.

The English language is versatile and wonderful.

If I were in charge of everything, everyone would get a thesaurus and be told how to use it. (No, not really, we've got bigger problems than not appreciating language)

Policing & Law enforcement is usually completely separate from politics in a democracy, for good reasons. Clearly no one told Sir Kier Stalin (or inaswish)

But the police and law enforcement is a responsibility of government and therefore could be considered political.

I believe it should be "inaswing" - though I might be wrong.

Alicante, Spain. (Sometimes in Wales)

I guess you could say most things in your life have a political connection.

Like beer? The price you pay is a political issue.

Like the beach? Water quality is a political issue.

Use the train?

Well, you get the drift.

Some might say the PSNI have much more than some little yellow tags on their uniforms to apologise for.

(Political yet? )
