Good morning all,
Who here likes a different 'type' of ride that we're normally accustomed to talking about on here?
Which is your favourite theme park in the UK? (or worldwide if you've been to them) and which is your favourite ride?

"The only park I've been to in recent years is Chessington, taking my son to Thorpe park at the end of the month"
Needless to say, you have to ride Hyperia... best ride in the country by a long way |

My ex wife loved themeparks where as I'm not that much of a daredevil. Went on the smiler at alton towers and never again! Nearly brought my all you can eat breakfast back up!
I like Thorpe Park as its smaller and did actually enjoy the SAW ride |

Don't let that deter you both. The lap bar is very supportive and goes over the head and securely holds your torso and thighs. It's not a traditional 'lap bar' |

Oooh I'm not sure. I went on some waltzers yesterday and that nearly finished me off. The carousel was more my style. |

Should try it. It's a family coaster 🤣🤣🤣 not very white knuckle.
I've done Alton Towers, Chessington and Thorpe Park already this year (Merlin Pass) and looking to Blackpool and Drayton Manor later in the year |

"If i was loaded id travel the world going on all the extreme rides...love them"
I did this for a while some decades ago. I was then approached by a TV producer. I had the chance to go to several theme parks around the world to ride extreme rides with strangers (but make it look like friends) for a TV programme.
I went to several in Italy, the USA, and Japan for the TV programme. |

Nope, no Thankyou 🤢
Waltzers are good or a river rapid type ride but anything where you feel like you’re falling, sod that.
I have been to Tivoli in Copenhagen a few times though but despite living 20 mins down the road from Thorpe park for a number of years I never went. |

Not so good after a 3 hour queue and then it breaks down when you were next on |

Can’t choose between Thorpe Park and Alton Towers…also can’t choose a favourite ride but between Oblivion, Saw and Swarm. Going to Thorpe Park next month to go on Hyperia for the first time, very excited! |

I second this. Hyperia is a great ride.
A little underwhelmed with Nemesis Reborn at Alton Towers as I have a nostalgic attachment to the old Nemesis. What I really miss there is Ripsaw.
Icon at Blackpool is underrated, I think it's quite a good ride.
Ask the best coasters are either in the states (Velocicoaster, Hulk, Gwazi, Montu etc) or surrogacy surprisingly, Germany and Belgium (Plopsaland, Phantasialand and Europa Park)
I haven't been on these yet but would love to go |

Sadly not! I’ve heard about it … last time I was living there was 2009! So before my time 😢
One day soon I will be going back !

Bit of a theme park thoosie here. In the UK alton towers just edges it with its variety of attractions but for all out thrills thorpe park has overtaken it with hyperia especially!
In europe I absolutely love phantasialand and portaventura! Both highly recommended if not yet done! |

There are a few in Germany that are apparently fantastic. And way better than the over-commercialised theme parks that we know of.

Rides scare me but if I go to Drayton manor the most I will go on the the kids Ben 10, the pirate ship and log flume.
My daughter used to be a real adrenaline junkie at theme parks and it used to make me feel sick seeing her go on all the scary rides |

Alton Towers is the best in the U.K
Love all of them we have here but can’t be bothered to pay a fortune and stand around in queues for hours any more. Novelty has worn off. And it’s already too expensive to then pay extra to jump the queue. |
