What's the one thing you do?

I'm looking for one simple thing to do, not a billion things that involve getting up at 5am, or a complex routine.

What time would late breakfast be, how much time is needed in between?

Get some fresh air & exercise.

Since COVID I've been WFH a lot more, so step count massively lower. Found that going to the gym and just going out for 30 mins to get a coffee makes a huge difference.

I started from 16:8 which is 8 hours eating window and 16 hours fasting, to suit your lifestyle, depends on your schedule.

Walk a lot. Do as much as possible outdoors, and as many physical ‘jobs’ as you can for yourself.

These things don’t have to mean big lifestyle changes. E.g. walk to the train station instead of getting a lift. Cut the grass yourself instead of letting someone help. Want decking outside? Don’t pay a joiner, build it yourself.

Read something recently on ageing, breakages, flexibility, bone health, balance, hand eye co-ordination that was interesting and pretty simple. Whilst exercise keeps your muscles and heart healthy, you have to do a wide variety of them (legs, arms, back, core etc).

Instead this was like basic calisthenics, where you use your own body weight to exercise. It gave the idea of trying to pick something up off the floor like a tennis ball, keeping good posture and using a range of motion.

With a tennis ball, place it right beside your ankle, try picking it up with feet apart, feet together, bent forward, with a straight back, with the correct hand, with the opposite hand. Place it 1,2,3' away with correct and opposite hands, try picking it up balancing only on one foot.

to increase difficulty change positions.. bending on knees with one arm, handstand/plank, 1 or both feet raised on a sofa, even with eyes shut. Do it slow, then slower still engages more muscles though all without overbalancing.

Bit long.. for bending over

It's a difficult one to pick one single thing, as health is a complex and multifaceted issue and my needs will be very different to yours.

For what it's worth, right now I'm working on improving my sleep. My poor sleep impacts my diet, my activity levels, my mental health, my stress levels - it has an impact right across the board.

Exercise regularly. Could be anything, but find something you enjoy and do it.

Have you tried taking any magnesium at all?

Alternatively , lead a lifestyle that does that.

Humans are so clever but so dumb. We go to great lengths to live the unhealthiest lifestyle possible and then pay to go in the gym and do the things we should be doing outside the gym

I've tried most stuff tbh - I've been to two sleep clinics, one as a teenager and one as an adult.

It's been an issue all my life but as I'm getting older the impact of it is showing up more; what I could get away with at 20 is much less fun at 50.
