Dunno if anyone else is watching. Someone tried to shoot trump, got spectators instead. Never the answer even if you don't like them.

Apparently the Trumpster was caught on the ear, and the shooter plus one more is dead. It wasn’t Biden, he wouldn’t shoot his own vice president now, would he?

"Trump just won the election."

To be fair, he won it in the "debate". Kinda funny how its only now the media are allowing themselves to talk about Bidens cognitive decline. When it was a conspiracy all but before that moment.

All these conspiracy's, seem to last 6-12months, until they're validated by the msm.

Biden did say during his latest press conference that he personally choose VP Trump because she was prepared to be the president.

Bless him! He gets confused or tongue tied often. He also called the president of Ukraine, Putin.

I've seen a few people saying this and I can't quite wrap my head around the logic of it. People are going to vote for him because someone shot at him? It doesn't interact in any way with his suitability for the post or his policies. I imagine the people who were already going to vote for him still will, and the ones who don't like him won't be swayed by this. Surely it's not going to stir enough undecideds to make a tangible difference.

In reply to this comment above specifically ……spend any length of time in the States and around American people and you realise they are (by and large) insular; I can’t remember how many Americans don’t have passports but it’s a surprisingly high percentage.

Those undecided on whom to vote for, known as ‘flip flop’s’ will vote for Trump simply because they don’t want to be “told” who to vote for.

You’ve tried to shoot Trump, I won’t let you decide who I’ll vote for or who I won’t; so fuck you…..and they’ll vote for Trump even if they had no intention of voting in the first place!

America is a very misunderstood !!

"America is absolutely flooded with guns so bringing in gun control Is well to late. "

This as well, there are gun control laws, backround check, mental heath check but Say I have a gun and then get a new one, if I give you my old one there is no record over it and the police don't have the resources to track down unregistered firearms and if you are caught, this take the gun away and give you a fine.

The I'm a good guy with a gun thing is laugable. Everyone is a good guy until something happens and you then become a bad guy.

Look at the mass shooting from the hotel? 58 years old, gun owner all his life, no crime or history of violence. Was a millionaire. Killed a load of young people at a festival.

Nobody knows why

Debating gun control is simply a wasted debate!

Americans will never give them up, even if Trump banned all guns as his first Presidential act, the majority of gun owners would say ‘fuck you, try taking my gun, see what happens’

The fist time I saw a “no guns in the workplace” sign, it literally stopped me dead in my tracks.

The first time I sat in a meeting and listened to a Trade Union representative try to overturn that company rule blew my mind; the discussion was always in the top three topics on the agenda at every works council meeting!

Truckers visibly display a gun when parked up, hijack or steal from my vehicle and you know what’s coming!

You genuinely stop noticing the guns after a while, in some States they’re literally everywhere!

One site I used to visit regularly had gun lockers in reception and a glass cabinet for people to display their favourite gun

For him it obviously wasn't normal and was actually scared that every was carrying a loaded gun and if maybe he upset somebody or got into a fight in a bar he could have someone pull a gun on him.

He said everyone was really friendly and saw no trouble at all while he was there but it did shock him

I fear there may be some sort of “revenge” attack…

Absolutely, I’m also genuinely surprised it’s taken this long! Perhaps given Biden has almost zero chance of winning this time, someone decided four more years of Trump was unacceptable!

One thing is for sure, Americans may as well save the election campaign money and give Trump the White House; now; nothing will stop him winning post an assassination attempt!

Whilst not vindicating it , I’m surprised it’s not happened before !

Personal opinion is that this now lands Trump an almost certain victory , which was looking likely anyway . Bidens faux pas have been well publicised as we all know , although he seems to me to be a genuinely good man who I think really does have his heart in the right place . Maybe if he’d handed the reigns to Kamala Harris a little earlier she would’ve been able to swing public opinion in her favour and given Trump more of a fight .

Why does so much of America dislike her ?

Because she is female ?

Because she is black ?

I’m asking not stating but it seems that way to me .

She is also a fuckinh awful VP tbh.

She has shown no charisma or drive and hasn't been helped by am administration that has pushed her far to the back.

I don't think they liked her as president and tbh ironically I think the reason they picked her as VP was because she was a black female. They didn't think Biden would deteriorate as quickly apparently.

Can you substantiate any of the above please. It's totally the opposite of statistics, main opinions , abilities and drives necessary for her to be where she is ?

What is it I am missing ?

What is a VP required to do that she is not doing?

Surely we should beward 'charismatic' leaders.??? We want competent leaders.

How can someone without drive be elevated so high ?

When was she president ?

For me she goes from strength to strength but I don't have a great interest in U.S. politics but i'd like to know how i've missed this ?

What really angers me about this is how Trump further endangered the bodyguards lives, they throw their bodies over his to protect him from further bullets but Trump insists on standing up with his fists in the air. Even when they try to get him in the car, a place of safety he stands up on the car frame to do another air fist bump, while security try force him inside the car, all the while the protection unit are exposed to potential death while Trump prolongs his appearance. When someone signs up to give their life to save yours you act in their best interest too.

Power over protection.

Sad world we live in.

My thoughts are with the person who was killed and the other person injured.

It is always the innocent who suffer in these awful situations.

The shooter was 20 years of age.

We have learned nothing since covid. There were 2 MP's killed in UK.

It is just so sad.

"Speaking as an American I'm honestly surprised that something like this hasn't happened before this, especially since after the 2020 results.

I hope to God he doesn't win, between Project 2025 and Agenda 47 we're going to be even more screwed long term than we already are with the Justices he appointed to the Supreme Court."

So…. You think the fact the kid was a registered republican is going to be glossed over much in the “trump the fearless” narrative…..

Also… in a lot of shootings we hear the words “ mental health issues “ to try and temper them down…. This time…. Not so much

Do we think some “gun reform” will finally be on the table now…. Because if I’m a democrat I would point out they have tried getting things like background checks and age restrictions passed… and they are normally shut down by republican legislators…

Some of the comments on this thread are sickening...full of hate, resentment and distaste for human life. There has been misogyny before Trump and will be way after Trump...you are just using the man as an emotional punching back. Others are nitpicking about how he should or should not have acted after someone just tried to assisinate them (like anyone thinks clearly in that situation). Regardless if you like or don't like the man...ignorant, juvenile, hateful comments where you want someone put down have no place on the forums...and I hope these people get banned !

"QUOTE

She is also a fuckinh awful VP tbh.

She has shown no charisma or drive and hasn't been helped by am administration that has pushed her far to the back.

I don't think they liked her as president and tbh ironically I think the reason they picked her as VP was because she was a black female. They didn't think Biden would deteriorate as quickly apparently.

UNQUOTE

Can you substantiate any of the above please. It's totally the opposite of statistics, main opinions , abilities and drives necessary for her to be where she is ?

What is it I am missing ?

What is a VP required to do that she is not doing?

Surely we should beward 'charismatic' leaders.??? We want competent leaders.

How can someone without drive be elevated so high ?

When was she president ?

For me she goes from strength to strength but I don't have a great interest in U.S. politics but i'd like to know how i've missed this ?"

I probably phrased that poorly.

I wasn't questioning her ability but her actual time as VP.

She was pushed to the back, given poor portfolios with either impossible or irrelevant outcomes.

Yes she had risen in recent polls but that's because of the utter decline in support for Biden from the democratic side since the Gaza war and more recently his debate and press conference decline.

I do stand by the charisma and drive comments in her current role though, and I do think it's an important factor to push beyond her current level.

When I said they didn't like her "as" president I should have said "for" president..they should have been grooming her to run in this years race if they wanted her. They didn't.

In what way do you think she has gone from strength to strength though? Other than being a better choice than two very old men?

I hope I'm wrong by the way cause she would be a much better option

Not really…….

To get into a presidential event people have to go thru a metal detector

They are saying the shots fired were from outside the event… which suggests some sort of high powered long range gun was used….

What should get the alarm bells ringing for everyone is the fact there is no longer any middle ground in America, it’s completely polarised, it’s edging slowly towards civil unrest, there was a TikTok last night of a girl crying because the shooter missed, saying he had one job to do, wether that’s real or not is up for debate too but the fact we have grown adults simply not giving a shit about another human because of ideology is dark times.

Unfortunately, sign of the times and happening everywhere. Now more than ever its easy for people to become polarised, rage-induced morons by sticking to their own little bubble. Very few will be open to listening to points of view that are opposed to theirs. You only have to look how vitriolic some of the threads can be on a Swingers forum, a place where we're all supposed to have similar Kinks to "norms". Terrifying times when people burn bridges instead of crossing them to shake hands and agree to disagree.

You are right. What amazes me is that people are using this now as a tool for an election, rather than thinking, someone has felt so strongly to go and shoot somebody. When did it come to this?,

How did it come to this? And how can it be changed. This is not democracy how it should be.

I will put it in simply terms so you may get your head around this and hopefully this doesn’t go over your head as well

- you support a football team

- do you support/ like every player and person employed by that team ?

- no

Moral of the story . If your support a side that doesn’t mean you blindly support everything about them and want they do and people have protested against there own team before, look at Man Utd and Glazers out protest.

Hope this was simple enough to understand

The video of it is very odd, no one aided any spectators behind him, many sat recording him on their phones, not one person seemed to be injured if they were absolutely no one around them helped or spotted them.

I don't know having watched it several times it's just really odd people felt it ok to get their phones out and sit recording Trump when there were allegedly injured spectators.

I found it uneasy how Trump used it as a photo op rather than getting off stage. Raising a first saying fight, fight, fight, when your security team hasn't a clue if there's more shooters puts himself in more danger and others. Even getting in the car he's thinking about him rather than the country he's running for. He'll use this as on the campaign trail despite parties of all colours calling for de-escalation. He's a divisive politician.

American society is well and truly fucked. Almost within seconds of the shooting some bell-end Republican politician started to blame Biden and the Democrats. Also, as Trump was manhandled off the stage he was seen to mouth 'fight' three times and held his fist in the air! Adrenaline or not, if that's not further inciting hatred, devision and violence then nothing is. Unfortunately this situation will inevitably project his popularity by several points and put the orange turd back in the White House. God help America!!!

I totally agree it's an iconic photo and it will be exploited as such things are absolutely would be by the 'other side' too..

But 'God Bless America'..?

On the whole it's an incredible country and with many, many decent people like most countries but if this assassination attempt is not a huge nationwide reality check that there's something dangerous and very threatening being pushed by some bad people which must be addressed over and above the divisiveness of the partisan political situation then truly they are on a path that is deeply concerning for all in the so called free world..

"The video of it is very odd, no one aided any spectators behind him, many sat recording him on their phones, not one person seemed to be injured if they were absolutely no one around them helped or spotted them.

I don't know having watched it several times it's just really odd people felt it ok to get their phones out and sit recording Trump when there were allegedly injured spectators.

Someone lost there life at it, 2 people if you include the shooter "

So it says, however everyone behind him in the video seems uninjured as I said it seems really odd.

So, a sniper who spent all that time planing, missed! Or just clipped his ear. Watch Trump touch his ear out of site. He turns his head and touches it. Fake? Who knows #coulditbefake

All over the place! Northwesr, , Southwest

The following comment by a former U.S. intelligence officer and U.N. weapons inspector sums it up nicely

"The attempted assassination of former President Trump underscores the extraordinarily precarious situation America finds itself in at this point in time in history.

Political violence is tragically not unknown in America—the assassination and attempted assassination of American Presidents is a sad reality of the American experience.

That an estranged citizen would convert his personal demons into an action designed to end the life of the person he blamed for what haunts him is sadly a byproduct of a society conditioned to accept violence as a means of resolving disputes, regardless of the underlying legality of the action.

The Second Amendment, and the Supreme Court’s current interpretation of its articulation and implementation, is the living manifestation of this reality.

But America has never before experienced a situation where the political environment itself has contributed so heavily to an atmosphere where political violence is openly advocated by a sitting President and his political party.

The depiction of Donald Trump by President Joe Biden as a criminal who represents a direct threat not only to democracy but also the existential survival of the American Republic creates a causal linkage that leads inevitably to the attempted assassination. Biden’s words have been echoed by the Democratic Party and anti-Trump activists on mainstream and social media in such a fashion that it constitutes a veritable green-lighting of political violence against the former President.

At a time when the American people and nation are fundamentally divided on political issues for which it seems there is no middle ground, when these divisions are articulated in stark existential terms, and when the Democratic Party is already being accused—with good reason—of politicizing and weaponizing the apparatus of judicial power to prevent Donald Trump from successfully challenging Joe Biden in the upcoming presidential election, the articulation by Biden and his supporters of Trump as a threat to the survival of the Republic that must be stopped at all costs is little more that an open directive for political violence.

America has never been closer to Civil War at anytime since 1861. The assassination of the former President on the orders—perceived or otherwise—of a sitting president and the establishment he directs would likely result in the permanent irreconcilable division of the nation along ideological grounds and lead to massive outbreaks of violence and the potential fracturing of the physical unity of the nation.

We live in a very precarious moment. The fever pitch of political rhetoric must be cooled down immediately. If both sides cannot walk back their respective political passions, then what happened in Bulter Pennsylvania yesterday will become the inevitable norm, and violence, not reason, will become the chosen means of ideological differences.

And if that is the direction America is heading, God help us all."

Absolutely - there are many videos off this from many many angles and none show anyone injured as I said it seems odd, I'm not denying it's happened I just find the videos very strange in relation to what's been spoken, they don't add up. Unless people are that ruthless they are sitting next to the injured/deceased while videoing Trump, which in this day and age wouldn't suprise me in the slightest unfortunately.

"To be fair, what an iconic photo showing the bravery of the man, blood from a rifle wound, unflinching, fist raised. God Bless America...

That was pure stupidity and put the secret service officers at risk who were trying to usher him off the stage. "

It was pure stupidity and risk leaving a rooftop unguarded where the shooter was there visible for several minutes while people from the crowd were shouting at the police/ss and they did nothing. Then again some believe such a security flaw couldnt be accidental..

On seeing a close-up of Trump's right ear... there is no bullet wound anywhere on it. He's lying again, to fabricate a narrative of his own heroism which his supporters will undoubtedly take up, despite the fact the shooter was a known far-right leaning Republican.

As for the audience members killed/wounded, it's tragic and depressing. However, given their likely political alignment, there's a more than even chance they viewed the deaths of school kids as an acceptable price of their own freedom to own the exact same kind of battlefield weapon used by the shooter.

It's all fucked up and doesn't show any sign of getting unfucked any time soon.

There were three stands, one either side of trump and one behind trump. Why would people in different stand rush to the one where the bystanders got hit. When thye have their own people there.

I find it hard to believe that someone was able to climb onto the roof of a nearby building whilst carrying a rifle and take several shots despite the presence of helicopters , drones, Police and secret service. Someone let this happen or someone will be looking for a new job!

Which point are you struggling with?

.. the fact that Trump's ear shows no sign of having been hit by a bullet?

.. or that his support base is overwhelmingly in favour of unrestricted ownership of AR15 rifles or similar despite the death toll of school shootings?

.. or that the entire situation is fucked up?

You think Trump had a blood packet in his hand. He used it against his head when he ducked?

Or do you think the secret service applied the makeup when they piled on him.

Do you think those two spectators killed themselves for the greater good?

Your entire premise is built upon some kind of brainwashed psychopathy.

I've no idea where the blood came from. Possibly he was cut by flying glass from the autocue which was reported as being hit... or something else... I don't know. I do know, though, that Trump's ear doesn't appear to show a bullet wound.

No I don't think the audience members were faking it - please don't put words in my mouth... you know fine that's not what I meant. There were very clearly shots fired and people hit.
