Can only speak for myself, of course. But mates exs are out of bounds. |

"Is it disloyal?
Are friends ex partners off limits?
I don't think so" Yes there like an unwritten code but I'm talking from my personal experiences where on a few occasions my exes friends have been straight in and making moves

My take on this is that I give consideration to the individual situation.
Whenever this has come up for me it's been with mature adults who are able to navigate the situation with integrity and respect. |

When you say it's fizzled out after a few days, are we talking you've just been on a date/couple of dates and you wasn't really serious or are we talking long term? Because if you wasn't together long enough to get a drawer and leave your toothbrush at theirs, I would say it was just semi casual.
It's never really happened to me but if it was just a casual thing and he slid into a friends DMS it wouldn't bother me in the slightest, there is a reason it didn't work out lol |

Better to wait until after you've split up, no?

As soon as we opened up my old relationship, most her friends were texting.
That's slightly different to tho.
Imo some will go for it, others won't.
I've been approached by ex GFs friends but no idea who is worse. |

"Bro code innit.
....
But why?
Not worth the hassle.
What hassle?"
What were you doing with my ex? Etc etc.
One time I bumped into someone ex in pub, had a chat and got a pile of nonsense for having a conversation and asking how she was. |

"Bro code innit.

I wouldn’t dream of jumping into bed with my friends ex just after they’d split up. My loyalty lies with my friend."
Yeah it's just a no-go if you're a proper mate. It's different if it wasn't a proper relationship, then it's just sloppy seconds and alls good |

I wouldn’t quite put it like that but you’re right, it totally depends on the situation. |

I think it totally depends, if it's a few meaning less dates a bit of fun but nothing heavy then I don't see why not.
Where theirs feelings involved and a more developed relationship then definitely not.
I definitely wouldn't it would just be to weird.. |

My ex-husband's very good friend said we should go for a drink or something to eat.
We were at a family party, and I think he just felt sorry for me because I was still single and my ex was there with his new girlfriend.
I didn't go. |

I still haven't worked out the OP (apologies....all inclusive drinks and that).
I don't think men or women are any more 'loyal' based on gender. Surely it's just a 'people' thing?
And if a relationship ends then surely both parties are free agents to do as they please? Some may slate or negatively discuss the other party, but that's a 'them' choice. Make your own mind up. Rather than base any perception of someone on the views of others.
