Somewhere In The Ether…

Good folks - ey up thou once again

A simple question: What would you consider to be the very worst/most uncomfortable jobs/professions to undertake in hot temperatures?

Extra points for creativity here and there’s even an empty bottle of mineral water for the best offering (I’m dead generous, I am)

Manchester (she/her)

The first thing that comes to mind is foundry work or similar. Thick, cumbersome gear and the heat necessary to create molten metal.

Teaching secondary school is my bonus joke post.

Sweaty teenagers who haven't figured out how to regulate their natural odour, drowning it in cheap body spray.

25 years ago I worked on a busy production line welding, and it was a blistering hot summer. I could wring my t-shirt out at the end of the shift.

We had to wear overalls, a welder's helmet, rigger boots, rigger gloves, it was very well paid, but awful.
