I've moved about 15 times in the last 10 years, 3 of those times I've moved counties or different towns, where I am now is the longest I have been anywhere since 2014, aside from fab friends I have zero friends here and I've been here 3 years, do I want a bunch of friends here? I don't know because I don't seem very good at friendships and seem happier just on my own with my cats and husband lol x |

I'd like to move away, but it wouldn't be easy
I'm lucky to live on the edge of a city so whilst I look out onto rolling hills, I'm still only 5 minutes from a train station with inter city connections, 10 minutes from a hospital with an a&e, 20 minutes from a motorway and 30 minutes from the city centre
I don't think I'd want to lose all that
I know it's achievable elsewhere, but at what cost? |

Would probably be a lot easier if I had a partner. Just find it hard to get a work/social balance, you know |

Nope. I’ve moved away from all my friends and family and absolutely love it. There’s some good suggestions for making new friends further up in the thread OP. Hope you find your happy place
Thanks, I'll definitely look out for some things |

I moved to the sticks from London OP, best move I ever made for quality of life and peace and quiet.
I occasionally miss the hustle and bustle so I just hop on a train to get my fix |

Sport clubs
Hobby clubs
Coffee mornings
All good ways to make friends in a new place
Have seen my belly hahaha I won't be doing any sports haha, thanks for the advice I'll definitely have a look at what's going on around my area |

It's very difficult to make friends as an adult.
There are a few groups on Facebook dedicated to forming platonic friendships. I've also seen posts on local groups asking of anyone would like to meet for coffee.
Hobby clubs etc can be horribly cliquey unless there's one or two people willing to be inclusive. The same goes for coffee mornings.
Check with neighbours if they know of any social activities too.
Good luck, I know from experience how difficult it can be. |

What do you want, OP? I don't mean that facetiously, but moving won't magic up friends. Live somewhere you like to live first and foremost. I agree with the advice above about finding a hobby - what do you enjoy doing? |

i have moved so much over the years, this is the longest i have been in one place for the kid's schooling - now i notice it because she is doing her own thing now.
Go to fab socials in your area - i have and we have a lovely group of friends now.
There's the usual sports clubs etc, get a dog - meet so many people dog walking at the same time each day ! or borrow a dog - there may be someone who would love someone to walk their dog for them |
