What's a film you like that got poor critic ratings or didn't perform well commercially but you think was underappreciated. For me it would have to be Kingdom of Heaven. Just for the King Baldwin scenes alone

I've only ever seen the Director's Cut of this and it is superb. Apparently the version released in cinemas was cut to hell by the studio which is why the reviews were so bad. But the Director's Cut seems to have given the film a second wind, and rightly so.

It’s interesting in that underrated could be a general amongst viewers underrated or critically underrated.

I think the film Bridesmaids is absolutely brilliant but I’m sure it didn’t trouble the Oscars.

But I think more in line with the thread I think I’d go for The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry.
