Does anyone have any useful advice re: which phone to get before i phone t'he phone company and get bombarded with info? I dont have other gadgets so do everything from my phone.
Advice gratefully received |

Im like you have a BlackBerry at the moment and been in the shop twice and can't quite make up my mind.
Thought i would wait for the Z10 and my son said its rubbish so now wondering what to get.
Perhaps the new HTC 1 or Samsung - decisions |

"HTC one. Android knocks spots of iPhones.
Shame as they could be amazing if they listened to customers reviews. "
I have an HTC One-X and its fantastic, the only real competitor to it is the Samsung Galaxy 3 in my opinion... |

I've just upgraded from the s3 to the HTC. Had always had HTC previously but had decided to try the Samsung. much prefer the HTC. |

I have a sony xperia and much prefer it to either the blackberry or the I phone.
Both of which ive previously owned and both of which I smashed by dropping within the first week. Had my sony for over 3 months, it too has been dropped and yet it still works and not even a crack in the screen?! |

Simply not true. Know many people who have switched from Android to iPhone, not one of them would go back. |

I had an iPhone 4s. I hated it, I couldn't connect to people via Bluetooth unless they also had a iPhone, they're fragile and the user interface is clumsy. I went straight back to Android and haven't looked back... |

I know plenty that have. I review gadgets and do reviews. I get to play with many phones. I have always wanted to love the iPhone's but they just don't listen. There are things that android have embraced that if iPhones did they could be amazing.
I also detest how they are not easy to use with other gadgets..and the price. Why would I pay more for a phone that does less than my phone does.
Not one person I've converted to android would ever Go back. But I am talking top spec Android phones not mid range.
Even my teenage daughter has been swayed. |

"I had an htc desire hd and it got replaced 3 times in 18 months was the biggest pile of crap ever got an iPhone 4S now it's wicked love it "
see my hd is still being used by my daughter and it's never failed. It's the operating system I have issues with. Although iPhones do seem very fragile if dropped. But that I think goes with most phones.
some people love iPhones, some don't. Same with androids or windows phones. |

sadly the s3 is now quite outdated. S4 comes out soon. My new phone came out Thursday. I couldn't wait for it in black. |

i had an original iphone, a 3gs and a 4s, while my 3gs was in for repair i borrowed a htc hero from a mate to see me through, an ancient phone i know but it showed me how much less restricted android phones were than iphones.
When my 4s went wrong i switched to a galaxy s2 and ive still got it, it totally kicks arse with iphones.
Did you know that the iphone 5 is just a galaxy s2 underneath but with apples own proprietry graphics chip and a tweak to support lte and .1 faster processor speed?
The next phone i get is going to be the galaxy S4 because that looks like the true next step in phone, dont think ill ever go back to apple, not unless they do something really different |

Phones get outdated very quick. I've had my s3 sometime now and the latest phones have better processors and much improved battery life. The s3 was and still is a good phone but it's still outdated compared to the newer ones.

Best to go to a shop and play with the phones - personally I love Windows Phone 8 but if you love apps it's not a great choice. I only use my phone for net browsing, text, whatsapp, photos and the occasional phone call! If you want the latest and greatest games and apps etc better with an iphone or android. I got rid of my 8mo old high end (at the time!) android handset a few weeks ago tho cause it was so unbearably laggy. Mr did the same with his Galaxy Nexus! |

it is the latest Samsung, but I upgraded and new phone is a lot better. And I don't trade up from phones I like without finding something else I like.
The s3 is a great phone. Just that in the world of gadgets it's quite old now. I loved mine, but am for now super happy with the HTC one that came out on Thursday. (The m7 edition not the old one.)
I think it in the end comes down to personal preference. I'd be hard pressed to ever swap from HTC again. Got tempted away by the s3 but not for long. |

opinions on phones (or anything else) are like assholes, everyone has got one, all different.
*I* have an SGS3 and a Note2, because that suits me, it won't suit anyone not after the same things as me.
===========================
women tend to buy iphones and stick with them, because they are perceived as being reasonably trendy, and because women have little interest in controlling their own phone or opening the bonnet to work on the motor.
men tend to buy HTC / Samsung and look at stuff like "can I change the battery" and "can I stick in an SDHC card"
some men are interested in anything they do not own and control, so it isn't just apple vs android, you can split android in to factory/carrier stock android, and rooted / AOSP / custom android.
==========================
what you should REALLY be doing is comparing carriers and contracts, you can get almost any phone you want for similar money on 3 all you can eat, and it is very very very instructive to sit three or four phones from different carriers next to each other and run speedtest. |

Two month old S3. Traded up from an HTC Desire HD and would never go back. Tried an I-phone and realised how they keep people coming back! Like BlackBerry, they seem to have a convoluted menu system and when you get used to it, others seem difficult.
My S3 knocks spots off of the Desire, both on battery life and on speed. I can also change the battery, unlike the I-phone. It also has a card slot unlike the I-phone and the HTC current range. Lastly for me. I can connect to almost anything, anywhere. .. totally unlike the I-clones. (No, not a typo) |
