Back in the 1980's Pepsi cola has the 6th biggest navy in the world.
When the iron curtain came down in the 80's the Russian's were buying stuff n didn't have money but loads of weapons so they traded using ships or tanks or whatever as currency for goods from the west. |

"About the size of Wales" is often used as a comparison when describing things (such as loss of jungle through deforestation, or forest fires, or...)
"About the size of Wales" first shows up in texts in 1844. |

Ooh why would it survive? Is it due to the actual structure of it |

"A German shepherd isn't German but possibly french "
A German shepherd is German.
The term "Alsatian" was used for German Shepherds in the UK and some other countries during and after World War I to avoid anti-German sentiment. Alsace, where the breed originated, became part of France after the war. The name "German Shepherd" was eventually reinstated, but "Alsatian" is still used in some regions |

Charles Bonnet syndrome is when you have sight lose or very low light and the brain tries to make sence of a fragment of vision.
You may see something familiar to you, but really it's just your brain working hard to fill in gaps in your vision |

It weighs approximately 6 million tonnes and due to its shape. Also it's base is constructed in the bedrock of the plateau.
Due to its main construction of granite, which is not susceptible heat. |

This seems very common in many online forums. Tends to be those who say 'why don't you just move on rather than disagree on my post/thread' or go and cry to mods. |

I saw this on BlueSky, posting here before I go looking for proof, find nothing and eventually concede, it was made up:
The 1980 Space Invaders Championship, considered to be the first large-scale video game competition, lost 17 contestants simultaneously when Scott Johnson of Fort Wayne, Indiana, distracted them all by holding up a blurry photograph of what may or may not have been a single boob. |

The wet weather hasn't dampened my Bank Holiday. I spent most of Saturday in A&E, all of Sunday resting up indoors and today I've driven to Wales and back to look for my watch which I thought I'd lost when I was there on Friday; all non weather dependent activities. |

There's whale bones/ fossils on some of the highest peaks on Everest. The Himalayan ranges were formed under the ocean.
Also sticking with whales. Their closest relative is the cow. When an autopsy is done on a whale you can see a hoof -like limb structure in the abdominal region. This is from when they used to live on land. The limb just remains undeveloped as they've evolved to not need it. |

"No number before 1,000 contains the letter A.
How do you say the number 101?
I would say hundred And one.
That’s a bit earlier than thousAnd.

I've seen this one before. I believe it's the actual number itself. Even though in English, we use 'and', none of the numbers themselves contain an "a":
One through twenty (I'll not write them all out), and hundred don't contain the letter A. Thousand is the first. |

That is fine when measuring from east to west. It is very different when you measure from west to east. |

Do all babies start as females?
Geneticists have discovered that all human embryos start life as females, as do all embryos of mammals. About the 2nd month the fetal tests elaborate enough androgens to offset the maternal estrogens and maleness develops. |

The saying don't throw the baby out in the bath water, is because they were the last to have a bath, then men would go first then the boys and so on and by the time the babies got the bath water it was very very dirty, hence the saying |
