Has anyone else had there photos use by someone else?
And what can/do you do about it it?
I just wish he’d ask, I could have told him not to bother…or if we could swap and I could try his photos.
Last year someone copy and pasted my whole text from my profile, that was funny.
But what’s the point? |

Back in the day, probably a good 5 or 6 years ago now, someone lifted about 5 of my pictures for their profile.
I was told about it by someone who’d seen it, so I sent him a message saying “hey mate, great pics” .. unironically he messaged back “thanks”.
When I told him they were my pics he just said “it’s good to share isn’t it” and kept them up!
Took admin a good 48 hours or so before they got deleted off his profile the cheeky bugger!
I would understand if it was pics of some gym fit hottie, he’s hardly gonna get much success from a chubby dad bod! |

That is banter at its best.
He’s got a verification too. … can I copy that to my profile.
I’m shocked it’s not as rare as I would hope it would be, but I don’t know what they get out of it.
“If we’re all the same…” etc. |

Yeah I had a message not so long ago from a woman we knew asking If we had ever met this couple as she had been talking to them and they had a few of the same pictures we had.
I reported the account and it was gone within the hour.. |

I had the majority of my profile cut and paste into the middle of another guys profile. However it was so fkn obvious as our writing levels were very different- especially as he was on the forums. Loads of my friends called him out. His reply was "imitation is a form of flattery".
Quite sad IMO |

I don’t see it as flattery. It’s stealing and having zero imagination yourself.
But, if they were inspired and took elements and did their own, yes, I’d accept that as a little flattery. But blatantly copy and pasting is a bit shit. |

I had this too on Bumble and on here. Other members told me and they reported.
You are lucky you don’t have an Aldi version of you on here contacting your exes, that’s far worse and creepy tbh |

No, Woody - no-one uses my pics, as I have an ironclad legal warning on my profile threatening legal action if they do. It seems to work.
I did once see someone who had pretty much cut and paste profile text, but I can't claim to own words! |

Yeah, I felt very lucky to have friends here who spotted someone using my pics, let me know, and did all the reporting on my behalf. There are some good eggs on these forums. |

Someone copied my entire profile text (and Brighton Steve's too) around 10 years ago.
Both straight guys. Which possibly caused them more issues than benefits given our text at the time.
I also know someone who was contacted once elsewhere by someone who'd lifted a pic from t'internet (the usual 6 pack mirror selfie) and sneakily cut the head off. They replied back saying 'nice pic' along with a photo just of the severed head and asked if he knew 'this guy' by any chance?
When the guy replied 'no - should I?' they sent him the full uncropped photo..........

I've had this. I've had my pics and text lifted and used by others. Both were reported by people I knew or were familiar with my profile. Most bizarre that I was raging about was a guy I had met lefted verbatim a veri I had left for another guy. He sent it to a woman he knew and asked her to falsely verify him using the exact text - which she did. |

What can be done? Not a lot it would seem.
I have a stalker ex who either
A. Makes new profiles of his own to find me.
B. Uses my photos and my old username to contact people I've previously met.
All I'm able to do is report the account and block him, until he makes a new account.
I could go to the police but I'd rather not share that I'm on here. And what would they do anyway? |

Quite a lot, actually. Provided they have evidence. And I’m talking from my own experience. |

It was a massive cope. The mods got it sorted. I don't think he stayed on site for long. The funniest thing was it was so blatant. He kept his original wording and just cut and paste mine into the middle.
I assumed he did it because he saw I had met several ladies from the forums. |

This.
They won't care you're on here, you're doing nothing wrong.
And a visit from them and it being on record may well put a stop to it. It would potentially fall under the new revenge porn laws. |

My partner was chatting with a guy recently. He was sharing pictures of himself with a lady that we knew, who hadn't given consent.
It's why we're very careful what picture we share and certainly won't be filmed / photographed with other people.
Got to keep yourselves safe on here. |

A few years ago I got messages from half a dozen people telling me that someone had copied and pasted my entire bio as their own and were attaching my pics to messages they were sending.
I couldn't see them because they had blocked me but I reported them anyway.
In the space of a month 2 more profiles did exactly the same including a prominent and well verified forum user who has been here much longer than me.
They were also reported.
I was told I should be flattered but I just thought they were lazy fucks and when some of the messages they were attaching my pics to were nasty and abusive I didn't see anything flattering in that.

"Yet to see anyone grab my entire profile text, given that it's more of a diary and probably one of the longest on the site. Also, I'm not particularly flattering about myself, more cruelly honest (interestingly though, cruelly honest self criticism does seem to be appreciated by at last some people on here).
As far as I know, I haven't had any photos pinched either. Someone would have to be really weird to pretend to look like me "
Nothing wrong with any honesty it’s refreshing , you would be amazed at some folk stealing pics |

"Nope, I can't say anyone has and if they have, I haven't been aware of it. Should I be offended?
What if they get more meets than you?
Miss S x"
I'd say fair play and send them over to my inbox
I'm joking by the way. No one has permission to use my photos. Fabswingers is a publicly traded company... |

Yes! A month or so ago. A guy I was chatting to, but hadn't met, incorporated my boobs into an "arty" pic on here.
He removed it when I asked him and inferred that I should have been flattered that he thought so much of them.
No! Weird behaviour!! |

Who wants to steal mine! Written by aliens and muppet photography!
Had someone copyone of my verifications and send it to me from them, but they regularly change their profile and have fake pics so who would expect originality |

I mean, they are very lovely boobies!!
I seriously doubt anyone would want my pics. No-one wants that chunky an ass...
I must admit, I have borrowed parts of other profiles, if I've noticed something I thought was good. But made it my own, not just copy/paste. Sometimes someone says what you'd like to say more succinctly.
But just rude and wrong to use someone else's pics. Muppets. |

I've had three guys take two of my photos on previous profile...
What was particularly galling was that one photo was deemed too rude for me to display, but he was able to have as his profile pic and had been using it for around 8 months before I realised... He was also a frequent viewer of my profile..
Another guy was really pissed that i reported him using a pic- as he said it was done to flatter me?!?
Its amazing what you discover when you become a paid member |
