Reports that the younger generation are largely unaware of some of the insults used for generations. Examples include pillock, plonker, cad, nitwit, numpty, toe rag, scallywag and git.

Correct. As it is a slang word for a cerebral palsy sufferer. |

“Melt” and “doughnut” get banded around here.
I also remember the un-pc ones like joey deacon and spaz from school. Thankfully (I guess) not in use any more. Razzer was another one - not so common. |

Della was an insult in Hull when I was growing up, as in "you della".
It comes from the De La Pole Psychiatric Hospital, which was closed in the 1990s, and is named after Sir William De La Pole, who was a merchant in the 14th century in Hull. |
