Still adjusting to cleats - I have grazes on my knees and not the fun kind from fun times, but from falling off the bl00dy bike. 40 miles done today (and actually didn’t fall off once so maybe there’s hope yet?!)
I keep being told of these nice sunny days where there’s no wind which are perfect for cycling but so far I reckon my friends are lying - it’s been miserable every time I’ve been out lately. |

Everyone's got to have one awkward embarrassing fall due to cleats, it's a right of passage!
Well done on the 40 Mike's! ( and no crashes!)
I think the sunny days are a myth, an old wives tales, I don't think they exist! |

Went to Italy last week and it seems like the £13k dogma I bought does not fit or work for me at all.
I took the dogma and then hired an Emunda Trek bike and all the confidence and joy of riding a bike returned after been missing for years.
Now I need to get one of these bikes. |

That's the problem with bikes they look good but not always fit well for the individual. A bit like shoes tbh.
As for the Dogma I was listening to a podcast and one of the pros said a similar thing in the fact he didn't get on with the fit of the Dogma. |

Got out today in the sun cycling after the downpours yesterday kept me in. Finally got some cycling sun glasses after one too many small flies ending up directly in my eye and lashes |

I must admit women look really hot in cycling kit. Saw a load of lasses out on their bikes yesterday and a lot of them had pretty impressive bikes as well at least compared to min. |

A long long time ago - road and track. No longer though as my mind thinks I can like I used to but my body just laughed, don't like being reminded I'm not as fit as I was in my 20's nor will I ever be now |

Been off the bike since 10/06 due to a little mishap at Bike Park Wales, starting to get movement back in the shoulder and in a lot less pain now so hoping to be able to start getting a few miles back in the legs again soon.
So if anyone is around me and fancies showing me some trails or good road routes then get in touch and we can arrange a spin somewhere. |

After years of competing I fell out of love with the sport. Got back on my bike this summer and really enjoyed it so going to start riding again and see if I can find that passion I had before competition killed it |

Used to be really into it then I haven’t been out for nearly 4 years. Went out last weekend and did 40 miles, lungs were fine but the legs stopped working after about 25 miles.
Scary considering I used to easily do around 200+ miles a week. And I forgot how sore your arse is until you get used to it again! |

Get multi directional cleats on your shoes. Slacken the adjuster screw on the pedal. |

Thankfully I haven’t fallen off since that post… which of course means next time out it’s inevitable
That said, I have killed two bikes in the last week so not much cycling going on currently |

Cycling was the first endurance sport I did, then moved onto long distance triathlon, which does have cycling in it. Currently training for Barcelona ironman in October, so riding at least an hour, 5 days a week, longer on the weekend. I went out on Sunday, weather not do good and ended up with a puncture to repair...good practice though. |

Hey again all
It's been a busy MTB few weeks for me! A race and ride in Scotland and another in Wales (which scared me to death!) Lots of scraps and mud and fun haha
No roadie riding for me yet this year! The poor thing hasn't seen daylight at all! |

I'm sure you're road bike will forgive you for any favoritism show to its fat tyred stable mate.
Unfortunately the mountain bike race series around east anglia all got pulled a couple of years ago.Think it was cost of putting the series on.
Don't fancy TT or road racing but love to be out on any bike. Especially in the summer |

I have a worthy Brompton - I can go into the village for a loaf of bread and milk on it - perfect design for a gentleman - no Lycra needed! You can even wear a nice t jacket.
A few miles here and there is frankly perfect
Oh and love the dynamo lights …

Purely MTB for me, the only time I ride on the road is to get to a trail. I’m supposed to be racing at Ard Rock this weekend but I’m working the UFC in Manchester and they’re working to US broadcast times so I don’t finish until 0730. No way I can do 14hr night shift then drive 3 hours then race. And all on my birthday too! I’m getting properly fucked and not in a good way |

I used to ride 100’s of road miles. I’m a bit too fat for my bike currently, and the state of the roads, plus drivers attitudes….put me off trying to get back into it with any seriousness.
I shall be mounting my roadie to a trainer and sticking to ‘riding’ in the garden. |

Oh and thanks for creating the thread. "
Forgot to say- that's ok, no problem
Pole and swimming will certainly keep you fit enough. Cycling will be a breeze when you return to it! |

The saddle I'm using is the saddle that came on the bike, it's fine on commutes and up to 40k, once I go up to 50-60k it's very uncomfortable to the point I couldn't cycle again for 2-3 days.
I've had a bike fit etc, and bought good quality bib shorts, so it must just be the saddle shape. |

Best of luck with the races. Will be definitely on the sofa with some beers cheering Tom Pidcock on for the Olympics. Both road and MTB, what a true talent...easy on the eyes too! |

Did you mention in the bike fit you get saddle soreness? For me a good bike fitter should be able to pin point the cause of this. For example, excessive saddle height or the reach is too far on your bike, causing you to sit too far forward on the saddle. Or it could just be that like you say the saddle is the wrong shape for you. |

Hadn't been cycling for months until yesterday and was quite pleased with myself for managing a lot of the ride without resorting to putting on the electric. The wind is howling today but it's not the usual cold North wind so I'm heading out again to get some momentum going and hopefully get out every day. Hope these aren't going to be famous last words!! |

I haven't been out on my bike for too long now. I need some encouragement to get me back out on it. Any lycra clad ladies fancy letting me follow them out on our bikes? I'll try to pay attention to the road, not just your bum |

Like wise the last time I had some work done it cost more than a service on my car. I was pretty taken aback but suppose cheaper than buying a new one |

My bike is in for a full service and repair. New chain and cassette at the least.
I could do some of it myself, particularly with the GCN guide book, but given how my life depends on it being done 100% correctly, I'd rather pay for a pro to do it.
