I have the solution!

I have the solution to the local council financial crisis! Am currently sat finishing work in the local library. To describe it as being as hot as the third circle of hell is an understatement. I'm sat in a strappy vest top and still feel hotter than I did by the pool in Tenerife. I hope no-one* Teams calls me because there's no way I'm putting my proper top back on

If they nudged the heating down about 10°C, the entire budget would be saved. Obviously. And it would be a pleasant place to sit. But the radiators don't have thermostats

What bolted-on solutions do you have to crises in this world?

*Unless it's Mr KC. That's fine.

My nan’s spare room.

Sorry I’m just happy with the vision of you in the best top.

I’d turn the heat up.

East London

It's probably controlled by a central computer in Scotland.

They won't turn it off until May and you can't turn the rads off.

Or, Mavis in the Geography of the Ancient world section is always freezing and has sabotaged the boiler and rads.

I had a similar solution for the UKs carbon output \ air quality issues.

Stop taxis sitting with the engine running in the middle of the day.

Walk out of the train station at 11.30 and there's cabs in a line of 20 all engines running. Absolutely awful to walk past.

I'm still boiling in my vest top!! I was all professionally dressed in jeans (!) and a proper blouse. The vest was supposed to be underneath. I'm feeling quite self conscious to be honest

You should try my local library, it is always freezing in there, even in the middle of summer!

I’m told all the local schools turned the heating off at Easter and that’s it now until October.

I think I'd have preferred that today

I am mercifully released home, where it's a more equitable temperature

Will it be enough to fill some potholes and stop destroying our cars, not to mention the danger they put us in?

Schools too. Our heating is centrally controlled. I LOVE it actually, but it's too hot for every other human it seems so we have to open all the windows.

If they spend the gas savings on tarmac, I'd say so

Put the tarmac in the library where it will be hot enough to melt it, then it can be gently spooned like warm honey into the potholes.

Also rent an area to the local pet shop so they can put their iguanas basking there, the zoo so the zebras think it’s the Serengeti etc.

In other ways to save the budget, forget about building wind farms and harness the raw energy of people on Fab wanking. Limitless energy forever.

These are splendid suggestions
