St George was 4th Century BC Cappadocian Greek not Turkish.
Parents were Greek - Mother was from Lydda, which is now in modern day Syria. Back in the 4th Century BC it was part of the Macedonian empire of Alexander “the great”.
It wasn’t until the 11th Century AD that the Turks conquered the Anatolian peninsula.
