Have to sleep on a broken bed, in a very cold room, with no privacy lock on the door. Then when you complain, the host describes you as "entitled and rude", implying you broke the bed because you're on the bigger side and that "it's not Syberia, the heating is off at night as there is cost of living crisis". That is true story, sadly, and the reason from now on, rather than supporting small business and going for quirkiness, I'll stick to chains. |

"I lifted up the toilet cistern and saw some limescale so gave them a 3 for cleanliness and promised not to return.
Did you ask for some money back?"
On payment day I underpaid their £100 room by £80 giving them a bill average of 20% (because I was really petty and playing to win) |

On a stag do and one of the group had a bit too much and mixed drink with something else. Someone heard him choking on his vomit and spun him round quickly to have him bring up his koppaberg all over the wall. Place looked like a crime scene. |

At a swingers B&B in sunny Blackpool, for our 2 night October stay the heating never came on once, the windows wouldn't close, the bed sheets weren't clean, one side of the bed was up against the wall. |

Had a hotel stay in Eire, when I arrived in the hotel and checked the room, there was a huge turd in the pan stinking the place out. Took a few flushes and some aerosol. Fortunately me and my mate were going straight out for drinks, so the room had time to air before settling down later. |

I flooded one in Alyth. They hadn't sealed the whirlpool bath properly. We came home from dinner to their reception flooded!
On the same stay the owner had been through my partners stuff and tried to ask questions about his hobby (nothing weird)
And he also turned up in the pub when we were having dinner!

Once in a hotel in maryport ( beautiful by the way )
This room has a pile of toe clippings on the rug - in the bath there was a sort of wall between our room and the next
I heard a familiar voice and the plywood divider could be moved to make conversation more easy heard … in fact I could lift it out of the way entirely !
Interesting ! |

I sleepwalked into someone else’s room
I’ve done it twice, second time I sleepwalked into the corridor and then snapped out of it in the lift, with no idea of where I was or what my room number was. So embarrassing. |

Too many to report
A memorable one was the accessible wet room in a Nottingham hotel flooding out under the bathroom door, flooding the room (incl. carpet) and out into the hotel hallway. It made the area outside the bathroom (laminate type floor) far too slippy for crutches etc. and the carpet was soaked for the rest of the trip. Mr KC got very wet socks.
We complained at the time but they had no other available wheelchair accessible rooms so we had to just put up with it.
Accessible wet rooms are often very bad for drainage issues, we've had flooded hotel rooms/hallways more than once. |
