Who’s been under the surgeon’s knife and why

I’ve got a Titanium femur - Annoying accident.

… plays havoc with airport security but at least I am more valuable as scrap….

I wear my scars with pride….

I've got titanium spinal implants. Never had any trouble at airports.

I was one of the first people in this country to have this type of implant and to say I'm grateful would be a huge understatement.

It's impossible but I sometimes think the implants get very cold or hot depending on the weather

I’m 53 and have never had general anaesthetic. Pretty lucky, especially considering the clumsiness

I was looking forward to dramatically declaring medical reasons for settling the detector off and requesting a handsome security guard to interview me. But no!

I'm only here because "Hey babe. I've got a titanium femur and I'm not afraid to use it" is now living rent-free in my head .

Currently nursing two deep stitches on my left wrist. Two skin biopsies for clinical research and medical journal publishing...

... Dermatologists are fascinated on why I'm growing excessive hair under my Google Pixel Watch (and other fitness trackers over the years). The light sensors under the watch clearly have something to do with it.

But because of my existential Alopecia I'm not growing hair anywhere else.

The same happens to one if our kids. Every single time they travel. Eventually they asked what the problem was and were told there was a marker beside their name due to their profession. Maybe the same applies to you

It won't be your leg , unless your implant isnt pure titanium and is an allowed with iron in it . Titanium is non metalic so doesn't set of an airport detector or any metal detector. You must have one of them faces that says ,search me please

I had an emergency C-section, so have a small scar on my abdomen. It was the safest way to deliver, so I'm happy it's there.

Have you ever had an operation? Its been know that medical instruments have been left inside after an op . Or you could have been abducted by aliens and now have an alien impiant

Mr has a few titanium pins in his leg and a collection of reasonably extensive scars and graft donor sites skin/vein/muscle.

He will only ever have a 5 pack now

I was somewhat afraid before I went to sleep the first time. Now I actually kind of like it.

I must of had local anaesthetic about 80 times or something.

I’ve never had operations on my eyes, ears or elbows. Internal organs wise brain, heart and womb have all been sliced and diced but the rest are untouched.

Every other part of me has been operated on at least once, some several times. I’ve had three ops in the last twelve months.

It would appear that my implant is not pure titanium but a composite of stainless steel as well.

There I was thinking that I was more valuable.

Hence the airport security fun …. Unless it really is my face.

I can now look forward to a lifetime of being patted down…
