Not entirely related but I've literally had to unblock and scrub toilets in the past.

It was still less degrading than working in a call centre though (which I've also done )

I don’t have a dream job.

Mainly because my dreams don’t involve work… they are filled with d*unken debauchery and golf holidays.

If I could be a football player that would be my dream job.

Either that or a fast jet fighter pilot.

Both reasons are similar. Enjoyment and a shit ton of money!

In terms of a realistic job that is still pretty up there on my idea of winning at life, probably a military officer in either the Marines or the Army. Decent money and it seems like my calling.

just somewhere around here

It isn't as the daily mail paints it you know! Shift work, no bank holidays, abuse from the public, no holiday when you want it as it is allocated. Oh and the salary isn't 100k as the media reports.

I would say, try it for 6 months and see how your social and family life goes down hill....see if you like it then.

Football player if you want the money. the fast jet pilots don't earn anywhere near what you think they d, in fact nobody in the military does until they hit the very high ranks. Now a commercial pilot for the likes of BA will earn around the 150k mark plus his overtime and then get his 2/3 final salary pension. (I used to live next door to one)

Me.. I wanted to join household cavalry but they told me that I wasn't english enough, and other than that, if money wasn't an object I'd always wanted to be a professional artist or failing that I'd probably go into nursing or alternatively acting or the cat sanctuary.

Massage therapist, don't have the time to qualify but I'm pretty handy and I'm said to have the cure for sprains which works out well.

that's what I wanted to do. I remember standing for hours in those queues at forbidden planet signing days with your portfolio in the hope you'd get spotted by the 2000ad / marvel and DC talent scouts.

Very difficult to pass the tests, but the media paint it as blokes sat on their backsides whining about not being oaid enough whilst raking in 65k.

The 65k is literally the drivers being flogged like dogs to do overtime they don't want to do because manning is down, and to cover weekend and late shifts over and above their safe working hours.

I’m in an industry that I’ve been in since it started, over 10 years now in different companies.

Not allowed to work over 35 hours, work from home.

Paid well, lots of holiday and great benefits.

I'm just having a foot and leg massage now...... uhhhhh sooooo good.

You don't need to qualify to practice as long as you are transparent. But you need to swot up on contraindications if you are going to properly massage people.

It's a wonderful skill to have even if not your FT job.

As a child I always wanted to work at an airport. Don't ask me why. This has developed more into doing something travel related. It's a tough one as I don't necessarily like people to a degree so a customer service facing role eg travel agent- the actual work I think I'd like, dealing with the actual clients is another. I do watch travel bloggers all the time (even though I think "influencers" are annoying and some of them clearly are getting perks from their mini fame of a few YouTube subscribers us minions wouldn't get) so I think it'd be something related to travelling the world. I have zero idea what. I just love getting out of the country. Would love to live abroad, even if it's somewhere in Europe, for a spell but never been brave enough to give it a go.

Yeah I think many of the ‘influencers’ are just doing it to get whatever out of it, and not showing what’s truly out there, if that makes sense.
