"I don't have a favourite but I was surprised to see a woodpecker on the peanuts hung in my garden yesterday, that was a first. "
They love suet balls too. They are not good at sharing though, they will take a swipe at other birds who try to share the feeder they are on. |

"Blackbird, because they remind me of sitting with my mum in her garden on warm evenings, drinking tea and listening to the blackbird on the chimney pot, singing."
Mine too, I love the sound of blackbird's. |

I love all little birdies but my top three:
For richness and diversity of song, Blackbirds top the bill.
Robins are delightful, tame little garden friends.
And finally, for sheer comical yet adorable looks, Wrens (they resemble a ping pong ball with a tiny little erect tail poking out the back) |

But by heck do those wrens throw out some volume from that tiny little body |

I have suet and peanuts out but never seen them on either before. I will be watching more closely from now on. |

I’ll say; They must have a mini Marshall Amp built in as standard |

Hopefully they will bring their young if you put food out regularly, I have loads of greater spotted now. |

Robins have been my tamest. They'd fly across the garden to land on and eat from my hand. I like blue tits - they're currently pecking at my windows a lot - either to attack their reflections, viewing it as an intruder, or in protest that I haven't attached a window bird feeder |

We used to have a regular woodpecker come to our feeders. One day there was a bit of a racket going on outside , it was a sparrowhawk that had the woodpecker on its back ready to start plucking and eating it alive,, whoa not in my back yard. I scared the Sparrowhawk off, the Woody was fine. I know mother Nature must take her course but not right under my nose! It was a nice place there on the Norfolk Broads we used to have geese in the oak trees too. I won a bet of a 10 minute help yourself in my local fishing tackle shop as the owner did not believe Geese landed and sat in trees, till I showed him the photos and a vid on my phone! |

I worked with penguins in Cape Town so very fond of them m, even though I was shooing them out of people's houses.
Also the Red Kite because as a child RSPB member I saved them from extinction in the UK by doing a sponsored bird watch. That's what my certificate said.
You're all welcome. |

The humble Starling..
if you’ve ever watched their murmerations at dusk or seen the cheeky little young learning to feed on the lawn.
Equally though, the Goldcrests we have in the back garden. UK’s smallest bird. |

Parents had lots of birds so grew up with them we’ve had cockatiels and couple of small parrots but would love a large parrot. Favourite wild birds either any of the owls or Golden Eagle |

I was a member of the YOC in my formative years and even now as much as there cackling annoys me at 6am I have a respect for Magpies ..
Very intelligent social creatures and they'd beat the shit out of most other avian species |
