Do you have it, or are you more inclined to follow the crowd and general consensus, wherever it may be headed?

Nobody is going to say follow the crowd (unless studies show the crowd is correct..People read a lot of studies on here) as nobody wants to be seen as a sheep.

Bit early in the thread for me to decide who I need to agree with. Will come back later with my integrity.

If everyone claims to be an independent thinker, isn't it the one who freely admits to following the crowd the most unique among them?

Considering it meams having the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles.

Then yes, I have it.

Are we talking about the crowd of people all talking about not being in a crowd and mumbling about snowflakes and sheeple?

I'm not in that one. Too crowded and doesn't look much fun.

I think I have enough integrity to admit if I was a crowd follower but I know I'm not so I won't admit to something I've never done.

Even from a young age I was labelled a do gooder.

I've never once smoked or tasted alcohol even when every last one of my friends did simply because I don't want to or need to.

I always stepped in when someone was being bullied and suffered ridicule for doing so as well as being physically attacked.

It's one of the reasons I don't toe the line here in the forums or have any wish to be popular or one of the cool kids.

I'm not one of those who claims to say it and fuck the consequences but I have no qualms about facing down the herd.

I follow the crowd massively, got an average job, pay tax, pay rent, have a mobile phone, some hobbies, i live in a very bog standard way and go through life in approximately the prescribed manner to be a good citizen. I'm average as fcuk.

What do you mean by integrity?

But to answer the actual question, I don’t follow a crowd. Never have. Just not sure what that has to do with integrity.

In the past in my younger days I probably followed the crowd to some degree used to be a people pleaser. As I’ve matured and developed as a human I have developed my integrity and don’t allow anyone to manipulate or sway my choices. I feel a lot happier having integrity and staying true to my morals.

That's why I asked what he means by integrity ...... cos it's possible to have integrity AND follow the consensus without one contradicting the other

Following the crowd? Sometimes and sometimes not. Just depends on what it might be.

Like to think about some things before following, not to be contrary but to be sure I’m okay with it

I am a Conservative Member of Parliament. Thank technology for spell checkers. I would not be able to spell the word integrity without one.

I came here to say this. The two things aren't mutually exclusive if the position of "the crowd" aligned with your principles or beliefs...

I'm a sheep. I just want people to like me so I will do whatever the overlords say. What good is integrity against a more powerful force.

What would a person look like who didn't follow a crowd of some description

If you're someone who doesn't follow the crowd doesn't that put you into a crowd with others who don't
