Ey up good folks
A wholly nosey thread from me yet again.
Do you wear glasses/contact lenses?
Are you long or else, short sighted?
When did you last take an eye test?
All things eyesight related in fact.
Alternatively, feel free to talk about ballbags if you so prefer; I’m dead laid back like that see |

Wear glasses for close up stuff these days - age related . I get regular eye tests as my mum has wet eye macular degeneration and my eldest has very poor vision in one eye, so I’m in the opticians regularly. My next test is due in the Summer. |

I wear glasses. Short sighted. Last eye test was about a month ago - I'm meant to have annual eye tests now. I did get new frames that I love so don't mind it too much. I don't wear them if I'm going out out, means I don't feel bad if I don't spot people.
I quite like people in glasses (insert clichéd 'oh it's sexy when people can't see' line). |

Long sighted, I think. I didn’t pay enough attention.
I’ve started wearing my glasses for more than the usual reading and watching tv, I think it’s time to make another appointment to get them tested again as it’s almost been a year. |

Long sighted, slight astigmatism. I wear glasses for reading, computers and driving at night. I have chronic dry eyes and now all the ducts on the left are blocked so I have to put all sorts of potions in them (which I hate)

I'm incredibly short sighted -13 in my left -15 in my right, eyes like rugby balls... retinas extremly thin to the point I had a very small retinal tear in left eye which I had laser surgery to repair in September... oh and my corneas are too thin so I can't have corrective surgery... just call me Mr Magor |

I was born with Strabismus which resulted in the development of amblyopia of the right eye.
In recent years I experienced age related degeneration of my eyesight and now wear glasses for close work such as reading and using my computer. |

I wear glasses for reading! I'm overdue a general eye test but had a eye screen test at hospital recently have them yearly being diabetic! Over the years have allways come back no problem! But this one came back saying I have background rinoapathy (not sure on spelling) starting x |

I got mine tested earlier this week and invested in some glasses for reading/watching tv.
That test that blows air into the eyeball to ascertain pressure was not entirely pleasant (and the bugger didn’t pre-warn me what to expect either!) |

The only eye test I’ve had since I left school is when you stand in the corridor and have to read your way down the board with the letters on, at the other end of the corridor. I always ace this as my eyesight at that distance is nothing short of bionic.
I have however recently acquired a pair of +2.5 magnifiers for reading and perving on the phone. |

I wear glasses as I’m short sighted. Last eye test was last week because I broke my glasses playing football and was overdue anyway. The kicker is my vision hasn’t changed so didn’t actually need new glasses, but I do because they’re broken. And the optician thought he found a hole in my retina. Have been to the eye clinic this week. Turns out I don’t have a hole in it so that’s some good news.
Still, probably should use an old pair of glasses to play football |

I wear varifocals. I developed a hole in the macular of my left eye a couple of years ago which needed a vitrectomy (only Google if not squeamish) and that eye is permanently damaged. That surgery meant I developed a cataract a year later which has been removed but now I have loads of scar tissue which can be quite uncomfortable.
I've had so many eye tests, scans, examinations, horrible drops, injections in my eyeball and bright lights in the last coup!e of years that I've lost count

Compound hyperopic astigmatic in one eye and irregular myopic astigmatic in the other eye. Can never remember which is which.
I now wear verifocals. I can’t get on with verifocal lenses at all. I must be too daft to sort out which eye is trained for what which leads to massive headaches. Literally.
I fancy quirky frames. Had my last exam five months ago. I have been doing twice a year exams lately as my eyes have changed loads since having children. |

Short sighted, though my prescription is pretty mild (I think, like -1 or something). I like my glasses but I don't really wear them other than driving.
I'm being nagged for an eye test so thanks for the reminder... |

September of last year I last took an eye test.
I'm short sighted and my prescription is quite strong (if correction weren't possible - it is - I'd be a little past legally blind). I also have an astigmatism caused by a medication I was on a long time ago.
I wear glasses. Tried contacts. Don't like them. Losing or breaking my glasses is my personal idea of hell, because I am 90% helpless without them. Smashed my only pair about ten years ago and had to be led around by the hand for the two weeks it took to get me new ones. Can't even read without them - have to hold books right up to my nose. |

"Long sighted and short sighted now. Trying to get used to trifocal glasses and struggling. Much prefer wearing contacts. "
Varifocals. My brains as bad as my eyes. |

I'm short-sighted with only a very weak prescription. I only usually wear my glasses for driving, I can see cars and roads without them, I just can't read road signs until I'm quite close to them. I sometimes wear contacts, but I can't really be bothered with the faffing of putting them in...and I have a weird fear of forgetting to take them out and my eyes going manky |
