I mean, I find it virtually impossible to get laid but, I'm not gonna lie! For one thing, lies ALWAYS end up being exposed, for another, you've pretty much got to have no conscience if you lie to get someone into bed.
I also can't really understand why someone would find sex so important that they would diminish who they are and weaken themselves as a person by lying. |

Remove a few things - less is more :
Any photos with other people in them.
Have photos where you're the majority of the pic
Remove any txt speak word

I 100% understand where you are coming from.
But as a single guy, I can understand how it gets to that stage for some.
When you get very limited interactions, and then the ones you do go really well, and then just stop, and you have no idea why, it can have you over analysing every single thing you do.
For women and couples, you guys have unlimited options on here, you have to find the ones that are good fits, with unlimited options you can dismiss anyone for the tiniest thing and move onto the next.
There are guys that arnt just after getting laid, they would like to find genuine connections, but if people won't even engage with them they have to think why and try to adress that, as it can probably end up quite depressing for them and for some the constant rejection possibly damages their self worth. So they play it as safe as possible.

Maybe playing it safe atleast opens up the door to conversation and then allows that person the opportunity to show more personality?
I do understand what you are saying, I've had the least safe profile and it allowed me to connect to people with the same humour (granted they were all 500 miles away)
But if I'd never had an interaction I'd probably start self analysing to see where I was going wrong.
I do however understand that people will water themselves down so they can try to read the other person's energy and appeal to that, I just don't think that's always the case.

I am one of these guys you're describing here but, I refuse to water anything down or pretend to be something I'm not.
Is it depressing? Yes.
Does it make me feel ugly and worthless? Yes.
I still however feel that, I need to be who I am if I'm going to create connections with the right people. If it never happens then, so be it. At least I've been true to myself. |

Yes! It's not really just a man thing, people do it. I struggle with that kind of dissonance because I don't quite believe it and then walls go up even higher.
