Somewhere In The Ether…

Good folks: Have you ever sat and watched a film/TV series or else read a book and initially hated it but, upon viewing/reading it again, subsequently loved it (or at least enjoyed it)?

If so, please list your examples here

Hmm. I think I felt this way about phineas and ferb. And the office. And modern family.

Porridge.

I didn't really like it when it first aired. Watched an episode a week or so ago and enjoyed it

The Straight Story.

I saw it at the cinema when it came out with my parents. I was a teenager and found it long and dull. I've watched it as an adult and thought it very good

Not a particular niche or genre. But hated Ricky Gervais in the beginning.

Now I admire him.

Now I think so. I think I didn't get to start with as they were just terrible people and didn't think it was funny. Then I realised that was the point and found it hilarious! On another note, wanna come onto my boat?

“After every encounter, I received a text confirming each partner's consent and enjoyment. Now you may ask, would a woman really text that, Dennis? Their phones did.“

The Originals.

I thought it was absurd. Now, it's a not so guilty pleasure.

Oh I know one! Fleabag. I really didn't get the first episode. Fell asleep half way through. Watched it a few weeks later and I'm still tempted to get a fox tattoo.
