Has hayfever season started early?

"It's all year round. It depends what type of pollen you're allergic too. For me, it's various trees and yes, it started about a week ago. "
I've been sneezing for a week or so. Catkins and pussy willows are out, as well as a few spring bulbs. I tend to react most of the year |

Same here. When the leaves drop and decompose and the wind picks up, I'm a mess. |

"Either it has or my house needs a serious dusting."
I have a theory about this.. i used to suffer badly with it, to the extent that i was once hospitalised due to the effect it had on my eyes, or rather my inability at the time to resist rubbing them, anyway from a young age right up until my early thirties i suffered, one year a particular tablet would work the following year it would have no effect and id have to try others until i found one that would, often with the same active ingredient but just a different manufacturer!, anyway now i barely get affected by it at all, my theory is this - we all suffer hayfever but people have different tolerances to differing levels and differing types of pollen.. for example a specific type and specific level will affect one person but not another person, however just a slight change to one or both of those parameters will see the previously affected person clear up and then the non affected person develop symptoms, also to throw more variables into the mix i also think age can play a factor, someone who has never suffered it can begin to suffer later in life..

"Not just me then.
There is a pungent smelling bush over by the Thames that really affects me but there's none where I live.
"
I'm curious what the plant is. Yesr plants are a couple of we weeks more advanced in the season than up here in the north. Forsythia is just starting to open its buds here - it's that yellow flowered shrub. |

"All year here too.
Strange actually, as a youngster I never had it. It only arrived when I got cats...
I never knew cats gave off pollen "
Same. All year round plus cat dander. As a result, I hate cats. But the little buggers seem to know that fact so hunt me down in any situation. |

Does it smell pungent? This plant has little yellow flowers.
There's loads of it where my daughter lives.

In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon |
It's been bad today, my face feels like it's melting with all the sneezing, running eyes and nose.
I've only suffered the last 2 years but it's like 40 years of hay-fever have ganged up on me! |
