North East Scotland, mostly

Do you have a particular item of cutlery you will always choose first?

For example, I have a favourite fork, it's got slightly longer tines and the handle has got little nobbles on it. I also have a favourite teaspoon - the bowl is wider and flatter than the others.

Join in my fascinating cutlery chat!

I CANNOT eat with cutlery that has the plastic handles

I know a good fork when I see it!

I like that you've shared what yours is.

Mine is a little spoon that's perfect. Good for coffee/tea, good for puddings and soup. I hate big (normal size) spoons and it always makes me a bit sad when I have to use one. I try and keep it safe in the kitchen drawer in case it disappears as cutlery is prone to do.

Most of my cutlery is pretty indistinguishable, but my favourite implement is a spork.

Those plastic things should not exist on cutlery. That is NOT good cutlery.

I went to my friends for dinner and those were the only cutlery she had. Water trickled out mid bite. I was so done.

Yes as an autistic girlie I have a favourite fork and bowl that were both destroyed several months ago -I’ve only just found a replacement bowl but I’ve hardly eaten meals with a fork since my one was destroyed

Not so fussed on type but cleanliness in a café / restaurant is a must, nothing worse than a dirty knife and fork.

I also notice how folks hold their knife and fork and can remember my dad telling me off for "trying to be American" and to eat properly !!!!

Happy days...

There's a website for replacement and discontinued china and crockery items. I think it's china search, dot co dot uk.

Hopefully, they might have the things that work for you in case you need to replace them.
