"Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid of course. That’s how I wanna go, all guns blazing !!!
What’s your favourite movie ending and why?
PS Happy NY if it’s not too late to say it."
I don’t know what’s the BEST, but some of my favourites...
NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD - Everyone dies. But when our hero dies, you don’t know why.
Racism? Mistake? Friendly Fire?
ALFIE - He doesn’t get the girl. He learnt nothing. And life is about to get more complicated
HARD CANDY - What happened when the Cops showed up...What?
CLUE - Multiple choice ending. |

"The Thing
The Godfather
Unbreakable
and the ending is extremely depressing but The Mist.
Oh, the ending of The Mist is so bleak - I love it. "
Yeah - a fairly run of the mill movie, but that ending will stay with you. Harrowing... |

It shouldn't have ended the way it did, it was crazy and made no sense at all, totally unnecessary! ![](/icons/s/confused.gif) |

Apparently the writer/director was worried about what Stephen King would think of the changes he'd made to the ending, but King told him that that was the ending he would have gone with if he'd thought of it! |

Regardless of the fact Stephen King wanted the film to end the way it did, I feel to me it was still crazy and not necessary! ![](/icons/s/sad.gif) |

"Not the best movie, but an interesting end.
Duel (1971)
I'm sorry but Duel is one of the best films ever made!
*
I love it, but every person said it's boring, except you.
"
One of my all time favs, that and Road Games the 1981 film, I usually watch one after the other. |

"Interstellar, champion of fuck with your head endings"
I couldn’t make it to the ending. Just found Matthew McConaughy’s accent so annoying I had to turn it off !! Is it worth persevering with ?? ![](/icons/s/confused.gif) |

Beneath the Planet of the Apes.
Shortly after the leader of a religious cult is shot dead, ("Your god didn't save you, did he?") a mortally-wounded Charlton Heston sets off a nuclear doomsday bomb.
The screen goes white, accompanied by a voiceover:
"In one of the countless billions of galaxies in the universe, lies a medium-sized star, and one of its satellites, a green and insignificant planet, is now dead".
70s science-fiction: so depressing, so cold, yet so cool. |

"Not the best movie, but an interesting end.
Duel (1971)"
So glad someone else mentioned this movie. Spielberg’s first full length (TV) movie, and the slow death of the monster. Absolutely NOT what you’re expecting from a ‘70s movie!!
(Watch out for the bloopers that made it into the movie though… lots of unintended reflections of ‘crew’) |

Some movies should have 2 or even 3 different endings. An example could be the Italian Job. Instead of it ending on the edge of a mountain cliff not knowing if they get away with it.
There could be an alternative where they just drive off with the gold. But you never know which ending your going to see when you go to the movies. |

Nah, vo back 1 film, the ending to the original Planet of the Apes pips everything.
It's the sort if twist no film maker could pull off today with so many on set pictures, leaks, spoilers. |

The elaborate reference to it in the upcoming Deadpool/Wolverine film has leaked like a sieve, combining both of your points! |

Great era for movies!! Pre CGI… I still think the original Mad Max films were better than Fury Road. Xx |

Matrix - when neo stops the bullets.
You've got mail - where they meet in the park. cause i feel its the proper ideal online dating scenario.
Worst ending was maybe inception - frustrated the life out of me.
Pretty much every Disney cartoon has a cute ending. |
