How do you feel about xxxxxx spread liberally everywhere? Usernames, messages to strangers, comments on the forum. It mystifies me.
A (made up) example:
Dear Gladys xxx would you like some tummy pumpy xxx in my dungeon xx
I'm a nice professional who always smells good

It used to just be my mum. Now every man and his dog is sending me xxxxxxxxxxxxx  |

I don't really mind it.
I wouldn't use it in a work capacity. I do sometimes use it on the forums, it kind of softens what I'm saying or shows affection for another. In a similar way, I do use it on WhatsApp/Telegram. Not always. Most of the time one x but sometimes I even go so far as to send two.

A single x is the optimum for me, just shows genuine affection. Otherwise nothing on the end.
Multiple X’s ‘xxxxx’ feels like being 13 and trying to flirt over MSN 
A few is definitely fine but no need to be excessive |

So I don't throw X's around like sweets but do like to use them and never really thought about it other than when they use xx. Then I think "Should double X it? Does it mean I don't like them as much if I don't? I'm not a double X guy! What if they think I'm only doing it because they are? Maybe I should just use one X and be consistent..."

Conventionally, kisses were always symbolised by capital Xs.
Nothing appears more mean spirited tha a single lower case x.
I have noticed that more often than not it is men on here who use the lower case x.
I suspect it is because they don't quite have the courage to go for the full X but by not doing so, they appear half hearted. |

Don't forget, also, that before the text messaging and internet age, 'LOL' meant 'lots of love' and not I am lolling about laughing my head off at something mildly amusing that, in most cases, could have been dealt with by using an exclamation mark instead of wasting two extra characters each time. |
