An insult or a compliment?

Ladies, if someone called you this how would you take it?

What's the male equivalent?

I've been called a cold fish. Think it just means someone who doesn't show their emotions

I don't think it's a good or bad thing

"I’d haaaaaate to be called that "

It’s childish and a throwback to the 90s. I called girls that in school.

But….., there’s some women in here probably act the way they did that earned that immature remark to them.

Kinda gives off negative vibes. Didn't the ice queen in the story want a cold and unfeeling world.

Somewhere In The Ether…

I believe the male equivalent to be, ‘Closed’ or else aloof.

Decidedly less insulting than the evoked image of something along the lines of a Disney villainess

From a random guy then it's a veiled insult as you don't show them any or enough attention.

From someone you know then you're probably just a cold hearted bitch.

Either or.

I've been called that too!

I think ice queen was intended to be derogatory but I didn't really understand why.

On the flip side, if people are overtly emotional they're accused of being dramatic or irrational. So actually, you can't really win.

If someone called me an Ice Queen I’d feel accomplished.

Like Ice T. I fucking LOVE him.

Iceberg Slim was a good writer, too.

My point is… when men are called “Ice” anything, it’s usually a compliment.

I’d take it as one even if it weren’t meant that way

It's all in the intent vs the reception of the person. It's no different than slut.

The intent of somebody calling another a slut may be an insult, while the target person takes pride in and owns it.

True story:

The big baby who called me a "dreadful cold fish" (which I do think is quite funny actually) is the same guy who got more and more irate because I was extremely collected during the break up and while he was moving his crap out of my house. He then completely lost his shit because the only time I got remotely emotional because he point blank refused to SELL me the Dyson (which was actually given to us by one of his mates who fancied me).

Spiteful bastard.
