Ey up good folks
I’m presently compiling a motivational playlist of songs from films.
But not just any list! - Oh no; I want a very specific genre, namely the sort frequently utilised in 1980’s and 1990’s action films over the training/fighting montages.
I’m talking, Eye Of The Tiger from Rocky 3, Fight To Survive from Blood Sport, You’re The Best from The Karate Kid and The Cobra Strikes from American Ninja 3 etc.
I specifically want cock and balls out, testosterone oozing, crass macho lyrics pertaining to going an extra round, fighting for one’s life and ‘going to the wire’ (whatever the hell that means?!)- that sort of fine lyrical boorishness; and its intrinsic that it be sung in glorious 1980’s macho voices ala John Parr on ‘St. Elmo’s Fire’ (the bit where he sings ‘Ooo ooo ooo ooooo!’ just after the first chorus instantly renders me as hard as a telegraph pole every time by Jove!
Help me out please my fine folks?

"Ride of the Rohirrim
Not stereotypical "manly" but it serves the same purpose and does it better! "
Wonderfully rousing! As was Aragon’s pre final battle speech in Return Of The King.
Damn, I almost felt I was there |

"My Old Man's A Dustman - Lonnie Donegan
I’ll throw in some classic Foster & Allen to "
It's got violent lyrics!
"Some folk give tips at Christmas
And some of them forget
So when he picks their bins up
He spills some on the steps
Now one old man got nasty
And to the council wrote
Next time my old man went 'round there
He punched him up the throat" |

Good Lord! I never knew the classic song contained such graphic depictions of violence.
Old Lonnie clearly had some form
Into the playlist it goes! |

The mighty John Parr again
I personally loved that gravelly tone he boasted.
I only recently discovered that he in fact hails from here in the UK |
