As far I'm aware it's about the words. If I recognise someone's picture but didn't catch the usual undertones of their text then I'll read it differently because of that.
But whether or not someone is visually appealing is irrelevant.

On the forums no I definitely don't view people differently based on a few well taken pics.
I coined a phrase here a couple of years ago about some people being fannyblind which is the fab variant of snowblindness and it can be very apt at times. |

Even if not consciously, I reckon it does affect our reactions.
If someone has a photo I like - funny, thoughtful, well composed - I'm more likely to respond positively to them than if it's a smudgy genitals shot. I guess it's the same kinda thing.

Oh.
That's a fair point actually.
I'm probably less likely to respond positively to someone with a standard dick pic as their profile picture.
I don't mind an artsy one with some thought. But if you're just whacking out your dong at everyone it is likely to affect how I personally feel towards someone. Exceptions for the occasional challenge and such. |

No. My level of friendship with a person does, if I'm more comfortable with someone I'm less likely to think they're a dirty scoundrel for how they reply.
But in terms of conventional markers of attractiveness affecting how I reply to someone? Nope. |

I think it's also about the existing relationship you have with the other poster. There are some folk on here I can be really sarcastic/sexual with, because that's how our relationship works. I wouldn't start doing that with someone I didn't know, though.
