I'm a bit surprised when I read a post in which someone seems to be lying. I'm not sure why they would want to "convince" complete strangers about anything.
But you do see them.

I'm prone to oversharing and word vomit. If ever I lie it's in a deliberately blatant and obviously sarcastic way, or at least I think it is.
Not everyone needs to know everything. But I generally try to answer everything as honestly as possible  |

At times I may be lenient with the truth, but if I'm asked a straight honest question, you'll get a straight honest answer. However, please be aware, an answer may be withheld in order to protect a person's feelings.

Forms of exaggerating based on perspective, not give full context or detail, avoid the truth but without stating anything that is not true.
But never lie - actually yes, the odd comedic lie may slip in and out.

There is a chance I may be being slightly less than truthful when I claim to never have had sex.
Apart from things like that, where I'm almost certain it's blindingly obvious I'm bending the truth to breaking point... nah. Can't be doing with lying.

Actually... 
A lie of omission is a lie.
If a lie is regarded to be the deliberate intent to deceive or conceal, then not revealing the full truth (with that same intent) has to also be regarded as a lie, no?
I treat virtually everything on fab (on the forums and on profiles) to be potentially not fully true.
I don't like being lied to and I generally don't lie. I will be careful with the truth (neither deliberately lie nor deliberately omit a truth) when needs be.
Like others have said, sometimes not revealing a full truth is prudent - I imagine most people know this.
Isn't the world of sex often heavily laced with deceit? The prospect of hooking up & getting off can be a powerful motivator.

Without some further context this is someone I care about deciding that they can bring a shitstorm to my door and put my life at risk to save their own skin when I have no informed involvement.
They've demonstrated what my life, safety, home and wellbeing mean to them. I may have thought they were my friend before that moment. Why is it my job to then lie and give the people after them a reason to come back and react to the fact I lied to their faces? |

I really struggle with lying and with breaking rules. Something to do with some stuff I'll never tell here. Lets just say I've been bitten by some large lies and have a phobia.
I tend to omit information rather than dream it up because of the above in life, not just on FAB. |

I don’t lie. I don’t see the point. I’ve told a lot of truths in the forum (and some I haven’t) and much to my detriment.
People on fab don’t want truth or a real person, they want fantasies, so much of the crap I come out with is just a reply as the truth is boring to some.
I also know the difference between a lie, and deception. Just because someone doesn’t ask, some people think they are not lying.

I don't know if it's so much people want a fantasy but there's definitely an element of escapism/people saying things for comedic effect. I do the latter because I can't quite take myself too seriously, nor certain threads.

On fab, it’s not lies. Just a kind of poetic license.
Can you imagine how boring movies would be, if they were realistic and truthful?
I have realised (and many have commented too on other threads) that on fab, words have their own meaning apart from the real world.
For example. Each one has their own interpretation of what a “bull” is.
Couples profile could be just a man.
A woman’s profile could be a man.
From women’s replies, many photos seem to be used by other women.
So I don’t expect truth.
And who reads what men type anyway.
And women, do you think that anyone reads your “war and peace “ profile. A photo is worth a thousand words.
