"I was thinking . If you could have a new series made from a 70s/80s classics . What would you like.
I would go for the 6 million dollar man . Just re watching it again. "
I loved the ‘b-b-boing!’ sound effect utilised whenever Steve used one of his bionic powers (always in glorious slow motion!) |

….actually said sound effect should accompany the many ‘boing’ vids on here…. |

I think Hi De Hi is a great idea for a comedy series reboot. I worked at Butlns Minehead in the late 80’s and there were some experiences I had which would make for great stories.
Rather than set this new series in the 50’s or 60’s make it 80’s or 90’s and the lives of the ordinary workers not entertainment staff. |

I've been watching this too, forgot how bad it was
Attempts to remake 60s or 70s tv shows always end badly |

"There’s a few to be honest
Professionals
Wonder who would play bodi and Doyle
Randal and hopkirk deceased "
Randall & Hopkirk was redone 20 or so years ago with Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer |

Or make it on the 2000s with theme weekends and swingers! |

In the 80’s we had the ballroom dancing weekends, gorgeous young women and men dressed to the nines. Now they were some great nights |

The boiiing sounds more like some metal structure collapsing under strain, I mean, you have this hi-tech prosthetic and it creaks like a failing pylon |

Both of these were rebooted, but didn't go very far. "
Think finding a pairing for bodie n Doyle be a problem as the iconic ford capri
Thought the sweeney remake was crap not John thaw Dennis waterman
Did have a thing about Emma peel in the new avengers |

I found it particularly interesting that Steve had only one bionic leg but ran at super speed nonetheless….
Surely he would have been limping in reality whenever he ran, as his ‘real’ leg tried desperately to catch up….? |

"Quantum Leap. And what they could do with special effects today.
I used to like Sam travelling around trying to do good deeds to help people in need. "

"Hammer House Of Horror: I’d love to see a new series of this classic.
There was Hammer House Of Mystery And Suspense in the eighties but it wasn’t nearly as gory, sadly "
Reboot Tales From the Crypt and Tales of the Unexpected too. I love a good anthology series. |

That would be fantastic!
Also, The Twilight Zone and The Outer Limits (both were previously rebooted so I’m technically longing for a re-reboot) |

Already been done in 2012, series focused on grown up sons of Bobby and JR. "
***
Never seen it and hardly remember the original one.
Didn't think my post over, because I was sure it will be ignored. |

I wouldn’t remake any of them. Never a good idea to go back. Leave the oldies alone and come up with new material and ideas. |

I agree with this. When some of them have been remade they've not been very good.
And the originals were only good I think because of the actors that played the characters and the fashion, cars etc of that era.
Also with political correctness now, alot of the language used in that time wouldn't be allowed now.

"Blakes 7 "
This is the one I'd vote for. With modern special fx and the quality story writing it originally had it could be quite special.
There were rumours recently of an attempt to reboot it, but alas it came to naught. |

Been rumours since the 1990s. Sky actually held the rights for a while and were in pre-production for a reboot. Paul Darrow was the only cast member involved (same with the Big Finish audio adventures), but sadly it never even made it to having a pilot made. |

"A live action Thunderbirds, ho its been done.
But it was shite.
6 million dollar man is in production hell Mark Walburg was going to be Austin.
Wouldn't mind seeing UFO rebooted."
I wrote a pitch for a rebooted UFO that that tied it in to Captain Scarlett and Space 1999. But sadly the rights are scattered and no-one holds over-all rights anymore. |
