Not in the spirit of the thread, but none.

Wish they'd think of new ideas/concepts, but that's too much work and loss profitable.

If you meant Judge Dredd, then I don’t think there’s much wrong with the Karl Urban version

Needs a sequel though, the original set up the concept of Anderson and Psychic Judges. Next one could have been Mean Machine then introduce the Dark Judges. Finish the trilogy with Judge Death.

Somewhere In The Ether…

I’m not a fan of remakes in general nor the wholly rapacious reasons that lazy/greedy Hollywood executives churn them out.

I might make an exception for any that GENUINELY set out to improve upon an original terrible film, although having said this, I can’t think of any examples that I would actively seek out

Money for old rope. Re-hashing old films is just lazy.

I like this take on it.

I prefer them to be put to rest and to let the originals stand. Typically without sequels

Christoper Booker in "The Seven Basic Plots" elaborated that there are only 7 major themes.

1. Overcome the Monster

2. Rags to Riches

3. The Quest

4. Voyage & Return

5. Comedy

6. Tragedy

7. Rebirth

Any new film is going to fall in to one of those categories.

there was talk about a judge dredd TV series,it would give them more scope for extensive storylines.

The Karl Urban version was brilliant and definitely deserves a sequel,it wasn't a huge box office success but has subsequently gone on to be successful and become a cult classic.

I'd love to see the 2000ad universe expanded to include more film's or series.

Nemesis.

Ace trucking.

ABC warriors.

Slain.

Strontium Dog.

I think a film that is due a remake is “Rogue Male”

Not that the original with Peter O’Toole is bad. It was made in the early seventies ( I think )

When I ask my friends about their thoughts on the film, hardly any of them have even heard of it, never mind seen it

If a films is a flop there’s the best reason not to make a remake

Passengers and The Creator. Both great stories let down by terrible writing

There are films with good storylines but bombed because of bad screenplay, direction or acting

I'm all for remaking bad films with potential to be good...

Aka the scorcese remake of cape fear is so much better than the original.

What I hate is remaking good films...it's just pointless and usually inferior

Definitely more Dredd.

.

Stylistically, the first film was closer to the colour and vibrance of Mega City 1 which I grew up with in the comics.

.

I liked the incongruous juxtaposition of the judge's shiny uniforms and the world they lived in. Of course, the Judges were not always as shiny as they appeared. That was a conscious choice of the art direction. We are supposed to see them as paragons of virtue in all their resplendence, when in fact they are far from it.

.

The second film was more gritty, but that subtle nuance was missing. They just felt like grimy cops doing grimy work.

1st Film : 4/10

2nd Film : 7/10

.

Would like to see Durham Red.

ABC Warriors

This for some reason, it did not do well at the cinema. Maybe as it was advertised as 3-d and people were just watching out for that effect.
