OK, lugging backing off another thread which was asking about what perfume or aftershave people like...
What's a weird smell that you absolutely love?
We've all got the havnt we.
I think my 2 faves are freshly made tarmac, and motorbike fumes.. Absolutely idea why. But I've always loved those 2 smells.
Haha, and no, the smell of your own "things" doesn't class as weird. |

The inside of an old classic car, a horses muzzle, fresh sea air, gorse when in full bloom, chimney smoke in the winter months, hay that has just been turned… |

* Petrol
* Tarmac
* Root beer
* Deep Heat spray/ointment
* Campfires
* Lapsang Souchong tea
I'm pretty sure the last two smell pretty similar to each other, but then so does Root beer smell like Deep Heat rub (to me)

I suspect some people missed the 'weird' part of this, because fresh grass, sea air and bonfire smoke are all pretty common smells.
If you can buy a scented candle in Tesco that smells like it, its not weird |

Weird doesn't mean "uncommon", and the weird part is about that you like it, and it surprises people. |

I thought I’d out myself with creosote yet so many here love it!
Seconding old books/libraries (I’m a weird library geek) and newspapers (anyone remember the smell of chippy and newspaper combined?)
No longer available to me as she’s all grown up now but, how my daughter smelled as a toddler when she came in from playing in the park as a toddler. Hard to explain a weird mix of clean sweat, grass and utter joy!

The ionised smell right before a thunderstorm
I love this too but my son says I'm mad and there is no smell. "
That’s a good one. And I hate the rain, but that smell is so unique. |
