Next year, a prequel to the classic horror movie The Omen will be released known as The First Omen. The plot will focus a woman going to Rome wanting to be dedicated to the church but discovers a dark conspiracy revolving around the birth of the Antichrist.
After what I've seen with The Exorcist: Believer, I have a feeling this will just be another awful attempt to milk more money out of a well known horror movie. |

I sadly fear the same
The original trilogy were brilliant (as were Jerry Goldsmith’s amazing film scores!)
As cynical as I may sound, I fully expect the new one to be a lifeless, soulless and CGI laden borefest.

It feels like classics are getting milked more than a man strapped to a milking bench with a vibrator up his backside.
Apparently there will be a new Karate Kid with Ralph Macchio and Jackie Chan…. What in the Karate Kid universe will that be about. Though I do like Cobra Kai |

It’s a movie.........no great shakes if it’s snide or naff. |

"It's part of the lack of imagination in Hollywood. Why create something new if you can just resurrect something from the past?"
Hollywood is also too scare to create something new and original as they fear it won't make money. |

I've already figured out what will happen in this Omen prequel.
It will have a weak plot with badly written characters and jam-packed with annoying jump scares every five minutes. The death scenes will be like what we've seen in the Final Destination movies and the ending will be a graphic scene of Damien being born from a Jackal. |

The last exorcist was absolutely rubbish.
The original omens were quite good and had a dark undertone to it, what was unseen was nearly more scary than what was seen. It got into the subconscious, the sounds when that dreaded crow appears, the dogs all that tension music and sound was amazing.
The camera on the eye's of the characters etc
The new digital sound is over saturated and I prefer analogue or stereo sound. Just more raw and more natural.... something warm or cold about it...
I could go on but I think you get my drift |

I get what you mean. It's a shame Hollywood doesn't care about that anymore. All they care about is money. |

"I love the original Omen trilogy, not seen it for ages…
I’ve just bought them on DvD for £4 …. bargain! … looking forward to an evening with them soon.

Would have been fitting if the price was £6. Still a good bargain though lol |

I remember the original Omen trilogy especially the first one with Gregory Peck.I was in Secondary School when it was decided I am guessing by the school that our music lessons should consist of us watching part of the film when that scary music comes on particularly when they are taking young Damian to the church I think to be baptised.I think by the end of the week so many parents complained that the Omen & our music lessons ended. |
